युवा मोर्चाले केन्द्रिय कमिटीलाई लगाम लगाएको राम्रो-डा छेत्री
मनोज बोगटी, कालिमन्युज,कालेबुङ, २६ नोभेम्बर| उत्तर प्रदेशकी मुख्यमन्त्री मायावतीले राज्यभित्रै चारवटा राज्य गठन गर्ने प्रस्ताव विधानसभामा पारित गरेपछि दार्जीलिङ पहाडमा युवा मोर्चाले फेरि शुरू गर्ने गोर्खाल्याण्ड आन्दोलनलाई लिएर मोर्चा केन्द्रिय समितिको अझसम्म स्पष्ट अडान छैन| यस सम्बन्धमा मोर्चा केन्द्रिय प्रवक्ता एव कालेबुङका विधायक डा. हर्कवहादुर छेत्रीले भने, केन्द्रिय समितिले पो हात काटेर रोशन गिरीलाई जीटीएमा हस्ताक्षर गर्न लगाएका हुन्| युवा मोर्चाले त हस्ताक्षर गरेको छैन| युवा मोर्चा कुनै बाध्यताले बॉंधिएको छैन| यो प्रजातन्त्रको नमूना पनि हो| भोलि उनीहरूले जीटीए ठीक लागेन भन्न सक्छन्| उनीहरूले आन्दोलनलाई अघि बढाउँछन्| युवा मोर्चाले केन्द्रिय समितिलाई चेतावनी दिएको राम्रै हो| जसरी घिसिङले दागोपापलाई चौतारी भन्दै २१ वर्ष बिताए त्यसरी नै जीटीएमा भुलिएला भनेर मोर्चालाई लाखेस् गर्नु राम्रो हो| उसो भए युवा मोर्चाले गरेको आन्दोलनलाई मोर्चाले केन्द्रिय समितिले सघाउ पुर्याउँछ अथवा आन्दोलन केन्द्रिय समितिकै निर्देशनमा गरिएको हो भन्ने प्रश्न गर्दा तिनले भने, सघाउ पुर्याउनेमाथि केन्द्रिय समितिले बैठक गरेर निर्णय गर्नेछ|
उत्तर प्रदेशको चार राज्यहरू लगायत तेलेङ्गनाको परिस्थितिलाई हेरेर जीटीए ड्रप गरेर आन्दोलन गर्नुपर्ने वा जीटीएसँगै आन्दोलन गर्नुपर्ने पछिबाट केन्द्रिय समितिले सोच्नेछ| मोर्चा केन्द्रिय समिति अनि मोर्चाकै भातृ सङ्गठन युवा मोर्चामा तालमेल नरहेको सन्दर्भमा तिनले भने, हाम्रो तालमेल छैन| गोर्खाल्याण्ड माग्नेले माग्दै गरोस्| यो माग पनि छँदैछ, मूल मूद्दा यही नै हो| तर अहिले ब्रेकफास्ट खॉंदैगर्दा डिनर भनिहाल्न हुँदैन, पछिबाट डिनर खानैपर्छ| सबैतिर छुट्टै राज्यहरू गठन हुने सम्भावना भए गोर्खाल्याण्ड पनि अवश्यै भएकै हुन्छ| सय वर्ष पुरानो मागलाई सरकारले त्यति सजिलो नकार्न भने सक्तैन| मायावतीको निर्णयपछि देशभरि छुट्टै राज्य माग्नेहरूलाई बल पुग्न थालेपछि दार्जीलिङ पहाडको आन्दोलनमा शिथिलता आएको समय मोर्चा केन्द्रिय समितिले आन्दोलन नगरेर युवा मोर्चाले गर्नु मुद्दा बचाउने कार्य मात्र होइन भनी प्रश्न गर्दा तिनले उल्टै प्रश्न गर्दै भने, युवा मोर्चाले मुद्दा मार्ने काम गर्नुपर्थ्यो? आन्दोलनमा शिथिलता आएको छैन|
हाम्रो मान्छेले आन्दोलन भनेको बम पढ्काउनु, जुलूस र धर्ना गर्नु मात्र बुझ्छन्| यत्रो कागज-पत्र लेखापढी हुँदैछ| हाइपावर कमिटीले तराइ-डुवर्स अन्तरभुक्तिको निम्ति काम गर्दैछ| हस्ताक्षर सडकमा हुँदैन, टेबलमा हुन्छ| गोरामुमोको समयमा भएको आन्दोलहरूबारे बताउँदै तिनले अहिले बौद्धिक स्तरको आन्दोलन भइरहेको बताए| मायावतीको चारवटा राज्य गठन गरिने कुरा पनि राजनैतिक चलखेल नै हुनसक्ने बताउँदै तिनले भने, खुशीको कुरा यति हो कि तिनले राज्य भनेको देश होइन, देशको जिल्ला जस्तो मात्र हो, यसैले प्रशासन चलाउन जसरी चलाउनुर्छ त्यसरी नै चलाउनु भनेर देखाएको उदारता मात्र हो| तिनले कतिको इमान्दारिपूर्ण राज्य विभाजन गर्ने घोषणा गरिन् चुनाउपछि थाहा लाग्ने बताउँदै त्यहॉंका सांसदहरूले पछिबाट लोकसभामा राज्य गठनको निम्ति वृहत आन्दोलन गर्छन गर्दैनन् हेर्नपर्ने बताए| यद्यपि तिनले उत्तर प्रदेश, तेलेङ्गनासँग गोर्खाल्याण्डको परिस्थिति नमिल्ने बताए| तिनले भने, उत्तर प्रदेशमा ९६ जना सांसदहरू छन्, त्यसलाई चार भाग गर्दा पनि एउटामा २२-२३ सासंदहरू पर्छन्| उनीहरूको सरकार ढाल्नसक्ने स्थिति छ| उत्तर प्रदेशमा राज्य बनिन आँट्दा मोर्चा आन्दोलन किन गर्दैन भन्नेहरूले बुझ्नपर्छ| तलेङ्गनामा ३५० भन्दा अधिकले आत्मादाह गरे| मोर्चाले आन्दोलन गर्दा पॉंच जनाले ज्यान गुमाए| हामीले जीटीएमा सम्झौता गरेपनि गोर्खाल्याण्डको निम्ति सम्झौता गरेको छैनौं|
जसको दार्जीलिङ पहाडको विगतको राजनैतिक जीवनमा कुनै योगदान छैन उनीहरूले मोर्चाको कार्यक्रमलाई आलोचना गर्न सिवाह केही नगर्ने पनि छेत्रीले बताए| बिमल गरूङले जीटीएमा सम्झैता नगरेर रोशन गिरीले गरेको हो अनि तराइ-डुवर्सको सिमानको निम्ति अन्तिम निर्णय आएपछिनै बिमल गुरूङले हस्ताक्षर गर्ने पनि छेत्रीले बताए| २९ नोभेम्बरमा हुने हाइपावर कमिटीको बैठकमा जीटीएको भूभाग कत्रो हुन्छ भन्ने प्राय आँकडा आउनसक्ने पनि तिनले बताए| आदिवासी विकास परिषदले मोर्चासँग विकासको निम्ति सम्झौता गरेकोले यूवा मोर्चाको आन्दोलनले सम्झौता नरह नसक्ने सम्बन्धमा छेत्रीले भने, हेर्दै जाउँ, राजनीतिमा विहान एकजनासँग अनि बेलुकी अर्कोसँग सम्झौता हुन्छ| सम्झौता के हुन्छ भविष्यले बताउँछ| अहिले नै भनिहाल्न मिल्दैन| शुरूदेखि नै विकास परिषदसँग हाम्रो लगाइएको झगडा थियो| सम्झौता हुनअघि पॉंच चरणसम्म वार्ता भएको छ| अहिलेसम्म त हाम्रो सम्बन्ध राम्रै छ|
भागोपले शुरू गरेको सामुहिकताको प्रश्नमा तिनले भागोप मासको होइन क्लासको सङ्गठन रहेकोले दिल्लीतिर नै कार्यक्रम गरेको राम्रो भन्ने सुझाउ राख्दै सामुहिकताकै निम्ति हो भने पहिले सर्वमान्य नेता खोज्नुपर्ने बताए| अहिले मोर्चा नगरपालिका जस्तो मात्र रहेको बताउँदै जीएनएलफले गरेको मैला कामहरूलाई सफा पार्ने काममा नै मोर्चाको धेर समय खर्च भइरहेको बताए| गोर्खाल्याण्डको आन्दोलन गर्नअघि जीटीएको सम्झौता खारेज गर्नपर्ने विपक्षीहरूको भनाइको उत्तर दिँदै तिनले भने, उनीहरू सुप्रिम कोर्टको अधिवक्ता हुन् र हामीलाई आन्दोलनको निम्ति के खारेज गर्नपर्छ भन्ने? के खारेज गर्दा गोर्खाल्याण्ड हुन्छ हुँदैन व्याख्या गरोस्| तीन दिनअघि बङ्गालको गृहसचिवसँग आफूले भेट गरेको बताउँदै मर्डर केशबाहेक अन्य बेबुनियादी केशहरूलाई खारेज चॉंडै गर्न नोटिस जारी गर्ने भएको छेत्रीले बताए|
आविपको राज्य समितिको बैठक ठोस निर्णय बिनै समाप्त् -2 जनालाइ क्षमा
KalimNews: ABAVP withdrew showcause notice issued on two of its Dooars leaders Nicodene Minj and Joseph Hembrom. Earlier five leaders were issued showcause notice for taking part in an agreement with GJM demanding formation of GATA by incorporation of areas of Dooars.However the committee could not decide on the explanations received from state secretary Tej kumar Toppo and Sukra Munda.
State president Birsa Munda said that the committee was not satisfied with the long and elaborate explanation given by branch secretry John Barla. Instead he was directed to give another explanation by December 15. The committee will meet on December 17 to decide on the fate of three leaders.
राजेश शर्मा, कालिमन्युज, जयगांउ, २५ नभेम्भर । गोर्खा जन मुक्ति मोर्चा र अदिवासी बिकास परिषद्को गत ३० अक्टोवरमा भएको सयुक्त सम्झौतामा जीटीएलाई फेर बदल गरेर् जीएटीए बनाउने गोजमुमो र आविपले तय गरेको थियो। यसै सम्बन्धमा आविपका पाच शिर्षस्थ् नेता जोन बारला, तेज कुमार टोप्पो, सुक्रा मुण्डा, जोसेफ् हेमब्रम अनि निकोडिन मिन्जलाई एउटा सोकज जारी गरीएको थियो उक्त सोकजको सुनाई वा सफाई दिन आज कलकत्ताको अविपको निजी कार्यालयमा स्टयाण्डींग कमिटिको एउटा निर्णायक बैठक बस्यो। आविपको संविधानमा कुनै राजनैतिक् पार्टी संग सम्झौता गर्नु नहुने राज्य कमिटिको मन्तव्य भएको कारण 5 जनालाइ सो कज गरिएको राज्य समितिले कैफियत दिएको छ्।
आजको बैठक दिउसोको दुई बजेर पैतालिस मिनटमा शुरु भएर् रातिको सात बजेसम्म चलेको दुरभाषमा जानकारी दिदै अविपका राज्य कमिटि अध्यक्ष बिर्सा तिर्कीले बैठकमा आविपको सिद्धान्त औ नियमहरु तथा अदिवासी जातिको विकाश जस्ता आवश्यक बिषयहरुमाथि चर्चा भएको जानकारी दिए। बैठकमा 5 नेताहरुलाइ सोकज दिएको तथा आविपले लिएको निर्णय माथि बहस गरिएको थप जानकारी तिर्कीले गराए। आविपले बिगत दिनदेखि नै गोर्खाल्याण्डको बिरोध गर्दै आएको र आजको सभामा पनि यसै बिषयमा थप चर्चा गरिएको तिनले खुलासा गरे। यसै क्रममा सभामा डुवर्सका पाच नेताहरुलाइ दिएको सोकजबारे उनीहरुले सोकजको उत्तर दिए। पाच नेताहरुको सोकजको उत्तर मध्ये जोसेफ हेमब्रम र निकोडिन मिन्जले दिएको उत्तर संतोषजनक ठहराइ उनीहरुको सोकज फिर्ता लिइयो।
राज्य सचिव तेज कुमार टोप्पो र सुक्रा मुण्डाको उत्तरबारे स्ट्यान्डींग कमिटिले कुनै पनि निर्णय लिन सकेन। जोन बारलाले उत्तरमा किन उनले गोजमुमोसंग सम्झौतामा सह्मति जनाए त्यसको लामो स्पष्टिकरण दिए तर तिनको उत्तर स्पष्ट नभएको बताउदै स्ट्याण्डींग कमिटिले आगामी १५ दिसम्बर सम्म लिखित रुपमा अर्को उत्तर दिने समय दिएको छ। उक्त दिन सम्म बारलाले आफ्नो पद्को उपयोग नगर्ने निर्देश् पनि दिएको छ।

मनोज बोगटी, कालिमन्युज, कालेबुङ, २६ नोभेम्बर|गोर्खा जनमुक्ति मोर्चाले भित्तैभरि गोर्खाल्याण्ड अनि त्यसको पछि इण्डिया लेख्न पसले अनि कार्यालयहरूलाई निर्देश दियो| छुट्टैराज्य को निम्ति लेखिएको गोर्खाल्याण्ड पछि गोर्खाल्याण्ड टेरिटोरियल एड्मिनिष्ट्रेशनको निम्ति भयो| जीटीएको अघिल्तिर भएको गोर्खाल्याण्ड शब्दले नै देशभरिका गोर्खाहरूको चिह्नारी बोक्ने बताउँदै मोर्चाले जीटीएमा हस्ताक्षर गर्यो| अहिले मायावतीले चारवटा राज्य बनाउन विधायनसभामा प्रस्ताव पारित गरिदिएर केन्द्रलाई अप्ठ्यारोमा पारेपछि देशभरि नै छुट्टैराज्यको आन्दोलन चर्किएको छ| तर मोर्चाले यस्तो अवस्थामा पनि छुट्टैराज्यको आन्दोलन जीटीएमा सम्झौता गरेको कारण गर्न सकेन| तर मोर्चा कै निर्देशनमा युवा मोर्चाले भने आन्दोलनको घोषणा त गर्यो तर कार्यक्रम भने भित्तामा गोर्खाल्याण्ड लेख्ने बताएपछि छुट्टैराज्य भनिरहने दलहरू युवा मोर्चासित विच्किएको छ| यसै पनि मोर्चाको विपक्षमा रहेका दलहरूले युवा मोर्चाको आन्दोलन नाटक रहेको बताइरहेको छ भने जीटीएमा अन्य दलहरूको सहमति बटुल्न युवा मोर्चालाई लगाएर मोर्चाले फेरि गोर्खाल्याण्ड शब्दको दुरुपयोग गरिरहेको आरोप पनि लगाइरहेको छ| गोर्खालीग नेता प्रताप खातीले भने, भित्तामा लेख्दै गोर्खाल्याण्ड हुने भएदेखि मोर्चाले अघि भित्तामा लेखेको गोर्खाल्याण्ड पनि छँदैछ|
तर गोर्खाल्याण्ड मागेको हो कि छुट्टै राज्य मागेको हो मोर्चा स्पष्ट छैन| मोर्चाले अहिले पनि गोर्खाल्याण्डमा नै हस्ताक्षर गरिसकेको छ तर त्यो राज्य होइन| हामीले भनिरहेको गोर्खाल्याण्ड राज्य हो अनि मोर्चाले भनिरहेको गोर्खाल्याण्ड जीटीए हो| तिनले भने, गोर्खाल्याण्ड भित्तामा लेखेर हुँदैन| सामुहिकरुपले यसको निम्ति आन्दोलन गर्नुपर्छ| जुन पार्टी राज्यसित मिलेर मुद्दा बेच्दै छुट्टैराज्यलाई गोर्खाल्याण्ड टेरिटोरियल एड्मिनिष्ट्रेशनसित साटिसकेको छ उसले भित्तामा गोर्खाल्याण्ड लेख्दा के फरक पर्छ| युवा मोर्चाले सॉंच्ची नै आन्दोलन गर्छ भने गोजमुमो त्यागेर बाहिर आउनुपर्छ| गोर्खालिगले छुट्टैराज्यको निम्ति सामुहिक आन्दोलनको कुरा गरिरहेको छ| सबै मिलेर आन्दोलन गरौं तर जीटीए छिराउने कुटनीति नखेलौं| अब जनतालाई बोरामा सुताउन सकिन्न| तिनले अझ भने, मोर्चालाई अब ढॉंट्ने ठाउँ पनि छैन| अहिले जस्तै भ्र्रममा जनतालाई राखोस् तर जनता असत्यको पक्षमा बस्ने छैन| तिनले युवा मोर्चालाई आह्वान गर्दै भने, युवा मोर्चाले पहिलो काम जीटीएको सम्झौता खारेज गर्नुपर्छ|
दोस्रो काम, रोशन गिरी र विमल गुरूङलाई अध्यक्ष र सचिवको पदबाट हटाएर साधरण सदस्यमा झार्नुपर्छ अथवा पार्टीबाट राजीनामा लेख्न लगाउनुपर्छ अनि तेस्रो काम भने आन्दोलन गर्नुपर्छ| किन भने हस्ताक्षर गर्नेले आन्दोलन गर्न सक्दैन| युवा मोर्चामा आँट छ भने यसरी सॉंच्चिकै आन्दोलन गरोस्| यता पिपल्स फोरमका महासचिव प्रवीण गुरूङले भने, युवा मोर्चाले भित्तामा लेख्ने गोर्खाल्याण्ड के हो? राज्य कि जीटीए? पहिले युवा मोर्चा आफूले के मागेको त्यो कुरामा स्पष्ट हुनुपर्छ किन भने केन्द्रिय कमिटीले अहिलेसम्म दसभन्दा धेरवटा मुद्दा फेरिसकेको छ| भित्तामा लेख्दैमा छुट्टैराज्य हुने भएदेखि मोर्चाको अघिल्लो भित्ता लेखनले पाइसक्थ्यो| यो नाटक मात्र हो| केन्द्रय समितिले छुट्टैराज्य हुँदैन भन्ने अनि जीटीए थाप्ने अनि भातृ सङ्गठनले भने आन्दोलन गर्ने कुरा जनतालाई लट्याउने खेल मात्र हो| केही दिनमा नै युवा मोर्चाको असलियत सामु आउने छ|
केन्द्रिय समितिले नै युवा मोर्चालाई बिजोक पार्ने छ| सबैले ध्यान राख्नुपर्छ आज युवा मोर्चाले गरिरहेको हॉंक केहीदिनमा केन्द्रिय समितिले भिजेको मुसा झैं बनाइदिनेछ| जसले जीटीएमा हस्ताक्षर गरेको छ उसले आन्दोलन भन्नु जेलको हावा खाने ढोका खोल्नु हो| मोर्चाका नेताहरूको निम्ति आगामी दिनको खबर राम्रो छैन| मदन तामङ हत्याकाण्डको तरवार मोर्चा नेताहरूको घिच्रोमा छ| अहिले बङ्गाल सरकारको हात मेलेको कारण मात्र उनीहरू बॉंचेका छन् तर पक्रा पर्छन् नै|

CID starts probe into Kishan death - Move follows cries of foul play
KINSUK BASU, TT, Calcutta, Nov. 26: The CID today initiated a probe into the circumstances leading to the death of Maoist leader Kishan in West Midnapore’s Burishole forest on Thursday, the move by the government prompted by allegations by rights organisations that he may have been killed in a fake encounter.
“In keeping with the guidelines of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the CID has been asked to probe the incident within 48 hours of the death. Our officers will find out what actually happened in Burishole forest and what were the circumstances that prompted security forces to fire,” a senior CID officer said.
“We will look into all possible angles and come up with a comprehensive report. Although there is no deadline, we want to submit the report to the government as early as possible,” he said.
A revised NHRC guideline issued in 2003 states that apart from filing an FIR under appropriate sections of the IPC, a magisterial inquiry must be conducted in cases of deaths that occur in the course of police action. The next of kin of the dead must be involved in the inquiry.
A team from the CID’s Special Operation Group visited the spot where Kishan’s body was found following the encounter with the joint forces and collected samples of bloodstains on the ground. “The spot has been cordoned off. We have also collected spent cartridges from the spot. If required, the firearms found at the encounter spot will be sent for a forensic test. We will visit the villages near the forest and speak to the residents,” the officer said.
Several human rights groups, including the APDR, and Maoist sympathisers such as poet Varavara Rao have said they suspect Kishan was killed in a fake encounter. They have claimed that the Maoist leader was captured by the police elsewhere, taken to the forest and killed “in cold blood”.
Rao today said he did not believe “at all” that Kishan was killed in an encounter with the police. Yesterday, he had met home secretary G.D. Gautama and requested that the government conduct an “impartial probe” into the circumstances under which Kishan died. After identifying the Maoist leader’s body at Midnapore Medical College Hospital today, Rao said it was “clear” that Kishan had been “brutally tortured” before being shot dead.
Asked about the government’s move to start a probe by the CID into the death, APDR secretary and the head of the team of interlocutors appointed to facilitate peace talks with the Maoists, Sujato Bhadra, said: “By ordering the probe, the government is implicitly admitting that there is something more than what meets the eye. There are several unanswered questions regarding Kishan’s death.”
Rangta Munshi, the assistant secretary of the APDR, said: “We have serious doubts about the police version that Kishan was killed in an encounter.” He said he was “not satisfied” with the decision to ask a state government agency to probe the incident. “APDR members will visit Burishole next week to find out the truth.”
A Writers’ official, however, said that by ordering the probe, the government “wanted to prove that it is transparent”. “We do not want people to have any doubts about what happened to Kishan. The government will get to the bottom of the incident."

Combing operation called off -The joint forces today called off its search operations in Burishole forest, concluding that no Maoist was holed up there.A police officer said the forces would now search the 120 villages that lie on either side of the two roads that lead to Jharkhand from Burishole. While one route is via Jamboni, the other is via Belpahari.
“We believe that guerrilla leader Suchitra and the four other Maoists who were with Kishan during the encounter are still in a state of shock after his death. They can’t afford to stay in a place where the security forces are in hot pursuit. They will try to escape to Jharkhand,” the officer said.
Rebel niece refuses help
PRONAB MONDAL, TT, Midnapore, Nov. 26: Kishan’s niece Deepika and poet Varavara Rao today identified the body of the Maoist killed in Thursday’s encounter as that of Kishan but refused to accept any help from the state government to take the body back to Hyderabad.
Rao and Deepika, who is referred to as Deepa by her family and close acquaintances, refused to use the ambulance arranged by police to take Kishan’s body from Midnapore Medical College Hospital to Calcutta airport. They hired an ambulance themselves. A police jeep, however, escorted the ambulance. The two bought the flight tickets and left for Hyderabad at 5.58pm.
PTI quoted a police officer in Hyderabad as saying that Kishan’s body was carried in an ambulance with police escort vehicles from Shamshabad Airport to Peddapally, the Maoist leader’s ancestral home. “The last rites will be performed tomorrow,” he said. Members of several rights organisers protested at the airport after the police denied them permission to keep the body for public viewing.
Yesterday, the Bengal government had said it would make all arrangements to fly Kishan’s body to Hyderabad.
The additional director-general of police (law and order), Surajit Kar Purakayastha, said: “We ensured that there was no delay in either handing over the body to Kishan’s family or in carrying out the post-mortem.”
Deepika, 36, said she had last seen her uncle in 1985. “I was four years old then. I was told that he looked like my grandfather and I found similarities between the two,” she said. Rao, who knew Kishan well, also identified the body.
After the confirmation, the post-mortem was done under the supervision of three doctors and one executive magistrate. The police arranged for a plywood coffin and the body was handed over to Deepika and Rao around 1.15 pm.
He and Deepika alleged Kishan had been killed in a fake encounter. “The injury marks on his face, chest and legs prove that he had been brutally tortured. His jaw was smashed with the butts of rifles. He was slashed and stabbed with bayonets. There are cut marks all over his body. His legs have burn injuries,” Rao said.
Deepika lodged a complaint with the Bengal police alleging that Kishan had been killed in cold blood.
While the coffin was being carried to the ambulance, Deepika, Rao and some human rights activists who came from Andhra Pradesh last night shouted slogans such as “Kishanji amar rahe”. Local Trinamul supporters who had gathered at the hospital started protesting.
Mamata remains silent on fake encounter
HT, Kolkata, November 26, 2011, Top Maoist leader Kishenji's body was flown to Hyderabad on Saturday by a private airlines' cargo plane even as allegations of a staged encounter continued to gain strength. The body identified by the Kishenji's niece Deepa Rao will be taken by relatives to his house at Peddapalli in
Karimnagar district of Andhra where his octogenarian mother lives.
The number three in the outlawed CPI(Maoist), was killed in a gun battle in the dense Burisole forests in West Bengal's Purulia district on Thursday.
The 'fake encounter' chorus grew on Saturday after the police failed to show a second body or another arrest despite claiming that they had spotted Kishenji with fellow rebels in the forest on Tuesday. Swami Agnivesh too joined the "fake encounter" chorus and demanded an enquiry into the killing.
Some senior doctors of Jhargram sub-divisional hospital told HT that they had refused to conduct the postmortem because of lack of qualified doctors.
"The district police administration created pressure on us. But we do no have any diploma or degree holders in forensics," said one of the doctors.
These very doctors, however, had performed postmortems of several Maoist leaders including Sasadhar Mahato and Lalmohan Tudu.
Kishenji's body was later taken to the Midnapore Medical College. The doctors there who conducted the postmortem said Kishenji had sustained more than 25 bullet injuries in different parts of his body. But they refused to confirm the distance from which the Maoist leader was shot.
"We have removed six bullets from the body. His lower jaw has been blown away. His stomach, liver, kidney and other organs will be sent to the state forensic laboratory for viscera test," said Dr Somnath Das who along with two other colleagues conducted the postmortem.
Meanwhile, chief minister Mamata Banerjee continued to maintain a stoic silence on the issue.
Mediapersons waiting for a reaction after her return from New Delhi on Friday had to return empty handed.
"In fact, her position has sullied the success of the security forces. With no congratulatory message from the chief minister, the only solace was the visit by the director general of CRPF," said a senior bureaucrat.
Kishanji's Murder: Judicial Enquiry Demanded
Countercurrents.org, 25 November, 2011: The killing of Kishanji alias Mallojula Koteswara Rao, Politburo Member of CPI (Maoist) in Burishol forest area, Paschim Midnapore District, Jangalmahal, West Bengal on 24 November 2011 during an encounter with police is strongly condemned by B D Sharma & G N Saibaba. Sharma is Former National Commissioner for Scheduled Castes and Tribes and Saibaba is Deputy Secretary of Revolutionary Democratic Front (RDF). In a press statement they have regarded it as the cold-blooded murder and planned assassination. It further says that at the time of this murder Kishanji was dealing with the process of peace talks through the interlocutors appointed by the Chief Minister of West Bengal Ms. Mamata Banerjee and it calls that such a heinous crime should be condemned by all justice loving people.
According to CPI (Maoist) statement issued to the media on today, Kishanji was arrested and tortured and then brutally killed. This murder looks much similar to that of Azad’s in July 2010, when Azad was brutally tortured and killed while he was dealing with the Union Government’s offer of peace talks through union Home Ministry appointed interlocutor.
In these circumstances, the Joint Forces’ story of a fierce gun battle in Burishol forest of Paschim Midnapore district comes out to be a concocted one. It is significant that the mother of Kishanji, Ms. Madhuramma while maintaining it is a fake encounter has also demanded a judicial enquiry. Under the circumstances, it has demanded that the fake encounter killing of Kishanji should be investigated by a Judicial Enquiry Committee of a sitting or retired judge of Supreme Court. It also demands that immediately a case of Murder be registered against the police, and paramilitary personnel who have claimed to have killed Koteswara Rao alias Kishanji, Politburo member, CPI (Maoist) in Burishol Forest area, Paschim Midnapore District, Jangalmahal, West Bengal taken place on 24-11-2011.
All those who are the suspects and involved in this coldblooded murder should temporarily be removed from the office till the Judicial Enquiry is completed, it demanded.Kishanji’s body should be airlifted to Hyderabad and handed over to his mother after proper post-mortem being conducted by the designated team of doctors and forensic experts not below the rank of civil surgeons and Kishanji’s body should be preserved with appropriate embalming, it further demands
Kishenji: An Indian Patriot And Hero For All Times
Trevor Selvam, Countercurrents.org, 25 November, 2011: Kishenji, the Maoist guerilla commander who was killed two days ago by the Joint Forces of the West Bengal Police Force and the Counter Insurgency Force deployed by Mamata Banerjee, organized the working poor of India’s tribal and Adivasi belt for thirty four years. He was there in the mountains, the villages, the forests of India, building mass organizations, organizing village defense forces, setting up a peoples’ militia and then the rudiments of a liberation army amongst the peasantry of that region. Kishenji, an engineering graduate and longtime communist activist, survived with the support of the local villagers and was able to build the Maoist organization by leaps and bounds, for the past decade. The world needs to know about this man.
The former rulers of Bengal, the CPI(“Marxists”) did not like Kishenji and made every attempt to eliminate him. They came very close to doing so, but each time he was able to evade the security forces. The State Forces of India led by Mr. PC Chidambaran had tried everything in their capacity to murder him, under one pretext or the other. The entire mass media of India, never stopped referring to him as a “terrorist.” Mamata Banerjee, smug as she sounds these days and deliberately provocative, lied and spoke through both sides of her mouth, when she asked for a judicial inquiry into the killing of Azad, the Politburo member of the Maoists. (Azad was arrested by India’s security forces in Nagpur and then taken into the forests of Andhra and shot dead in an “encounter.” The Indian Police Forces have earned worldwide infamy for the way they blatantly lie and kill militants in cold blood after arresting them.) Mamata Banerjee even insisted on the withdrawal of the Joint Forces from Jungle Mahal, in her election Manifesto. Then she went back on her word after she was elected. If there was ever a two timing liar in Bengal politics, Mamata Banerjee wins the award, hands down. Surrounded by a flock of sycophantic grease balls, Mamata Banerjee has exposed her hollow pronouncements about “bringing back democracy” to Bengal, within a short span of six months, by unleashing the Joint Forces on the Maoists and the people of Jungle Mahal.
From organizing the Lalgarh movement alongside his comrades in various mass movements and developing a tremendous savvy with the media, Kishenji was a stalwart Indian revolutionary, who dedicated his entire life to “serving the people.” He was responsible with his comrades, to set up the rudiments of peoples’ court, rural schooling systems, irrigation ditches, mobile hospitals and dispensaries.
Now, he did not have a fierce and handsome visage like Che Guevara, who fought only about fifteen to eighteen years in the jungles of Cuba, Angola and Bolivia, with relatively sophisticated arms including armored carriers and battle tanks at some point. Kishenji’s pictures are sparse, always with his head covered by a shawl to conceal his identity. He will never be known as widely as Che—but here was an Indian hero who fought till the end for his people, AK-47 by his side. He was neither a romantic, nor a demagogue. He simply was a mature revolutionary who needs to be remembered.
In this world, chock full of theories of change, ideological confusion, flawed movements and asinine sanctification of non-violence, (while structural violence is left ignored), Kishenji was a warrior for peace.

PRONAB MONDAL, TT, Midnapore, Nov. 26: Kishan’s niece Deepika and poet Varavara Rao today identified the body of the Maoist killed in Thursday’s encounter as that of Kishan but refused to accept any help from the state government to take the body back to Hyderabad.
Rao and Deepika, who is referred to as Deepa by her family and close acquaintances, refused to use the ambulance arranged by police to take Kishan’s body from Midnapore Medical College Hospital to Calcutta airport. They hired an ambulance themselves. A police jeep, however, escorted the ambulance. The two bought the flight tickets and left for Hyderabad at 5.58pm.
PTI quoted a police officer in Hyderabad as saying that Kishan’s body was carried in an ambulance with police escort vehicles from Shamshabad Airport to Peddapally, the Maoist leader’s ancestral home. “The last rites will be performed tomorrow,” he said. Members of several rights organisers protested at the airport after the police denied them permission to keep the body for public viewing.
Yesterday, the Bengal government had said it would make all arrangements to fly Kishan’s body to Hyderabad.
The additional director-general of police (law and order), Surajit Kar Purakayastha, said: “We ensured that there was no delay in either handing over the body to Kishan’s family or in carrying out the post-mortem.”
Deepika, 36, said she had last seen her uncle in 1985. “I was four years old then. I was told that he looked like my grandfather and I found similarities between the two,” she said. Rao, who knew Kishan well, also identified the body.
After the confirmation, the post-mortem was done under the supervision of three doctors and one executive magistrate. The police arranged for a plywood coffin and the body was handed over to Deepika and Rao around 1.15 pm.
He and Deepika alleged Kishan had been killed in a fake encounter. “The injury marks on his face, chest and legs prove that he had been brutally tortured. His jaw was smashed with the butts of rifles. He was slashed and stabbed with bayonets. There are cut marks all over his body. His legs have burn injuries,” Rao said.
Deepika lodged a complaint with the Bengal police alleging that Kishan had been killed in cold blood.
While the coffin was being carried to the ambulance, Deepika, Rao and some human rights activists who came from Andhra Pradesh last night shouted slogans such as “Kishanji amar rahe”. Local Trinamul supporters who had gathered at the hospital started protesting.
Mamata remains silent on fake encounter

The body identified by the Kishenji's niece Deepa Rao will be taken by relatives to his house at Peddapalli in
Karimnagar district of Andhra where his octogenarian mother lives.
The number three in the outlawed CPI(Maoist), was killed in a gun battle in the dense Burisole forests in West Bengal's Purulia district on Thursday.
The 'fake encounter' chorus grew on Saturday after the police failed to show a second body or another arrest despite claiming that they had spotted Kishenji with fellow rebels in the forest on Tuesday. Swami Agnivesh too joined the "fake encounter" chorus and demanded an enquiry into the killing.
Some senior doctors of Jhargram sub-divisional hospital told HT that they had refused to conduct the postmortem because of lack of qualified doctors.
"The district police administration created pressure on us. But we do no have any diploma or degree holders in forensics," said one of the doctors.
These very doctors, however, had performed postmortems of several Maoist leaders including Sasadhar Mahato and Lalmohan Tudu.
Kishenji's body was later taken to the Midnapore Medical College. The doctors there who conducted the postmortem said Kishenji had sustained more than 25 bullet injuries in different parts of his body. But they refused to confirm the distance from which the Maoist leader was shot.
"We have removed six bullets from the body. His lower jaw has been blown away. His stomach, liver, kidney and other organs will be sent to the state forensic laboratory for viscera test," said Dr Somnath Das who along with two other colleagues conducted the postmortem.
Meanwhile, chief minister Mamata Banerjee continued to maintain a stoic silence on the issue.
Mediapersons waiting for a reaction after her return from New Delhi on Friday had to return empty handed.
"In fact, her position has sullied the success of the security forces. With no congratulatory message from the chief minister, the only solace was the visit by the director general of CRPF," said a senior bureaucrat.
Kishanji's Murder: Judicial Enquiry Demanded
Countercurrents.org, 25 November, 2011: The killing of Kishanji alias Mallojula Koteswara Rao, Politburo Member of CPI (Maoist) in Burishol forest area, Paschim Midnapore District, Jangalmahal, West Bengal on 24 November 2011 during an encounter with police is strongly condemned by B D Sharma & G N Saibaba. Sharma is Former National Commissioner for Scheduled Castes and Tribes and Saibaba is Deputy Secretary of Revolutionary Democratic Front (RDF). In a press statement they have regarded it as the cold-blooded murder and planned assassination. It further says that at the time of this murder Kishanji was dealing with the process of peace talks through the interlocutors appointed by the Chief Minister of West Bengal Ms. Mamata Banerjee and it calls that such a heinous crime should be condemned by all justice loving people.
According to CPI (Maoist) statement issued to the media on today, Kishanji was arrested and tortured and then brutally killed. This murder looks much similar to that of Azad’s in July 2010, when Azad was brutally tortured and killed while he was dealing with the Union Government’s offer of peace talks through union Home Ministry appointed interlocutor.
In these circumstances, the Joint Forces’ story of a fierce gun battle in Burishol forest of Paschim Midnapore district comes out to be a concocted one. It is significant that the mother of Kishanji, Ms. Madhuramma while maintaining it is a fake encounter has also demanded a judicial enquiry. Under the circumstances, it has demanded that the fake encounter killing of Kishanji should be investigated by a Judicial Enquiry Committee of a sitting or retired judge of Supreme Court. It also demands that immediately a case of Murder be registered against the police, and paramilitary personnel who have claimed to have killed Koteswara Rao alias Kishanji, Politburo member, CPI (Maoist) in Burishol Forest area, Paschim Midnapore District, Jangalmahal, West Bengal taken place on 24-11-2011.
All those who are the suspects and involved in this coldblooded murder should temporarily be removed from the office till the Judicial Enquiry is completed, it demanded.Kishanji’s body should be airlifted to Hyderabad and handed over to his mother after proper post-mortem being conducted by the designated team of doctors and forensic experts not below the rank of civil surgeons and Kishanji’s body should be preserved with appropriate embalming, it further demands
Kishenji: An Indian Patriot And Hero For All Times
Trevor Selvam, Countercurrents.org, 25 November, 2011: Kishenji, the Maoist guerilla commander who was killed two days ago by the Joint Forces of the West Bengal Police Force and the Counter Insurgency Force deployed by Mamata Banerjee, organized the working poor of India’s tribal and Adivasi belt for thirty four years. He was there in the mountains, the villages, the forests of India, building mass organizations, organizing village defense forces, setting up a peoples’ militia and then the rudiments of a liberation army amongst the peasantry of that region. Kishenji, an engineering graduate and longtime communist activist, survived with the support of the local villagers and was able to build the Maoist organization by leaps and bounds, for the past decade. The world needs to know about this man.
The former rulers of Bengal, the CPI(“Marxists”) did not like Kishenji and made every attempt to eliminate him. They came very close to doing so, but each time he was able to evade the security forces. The State Forces of India led by Mr. PC Chidambaran had tried everything in their capacity to murder him, under one pretext or the other. The entire mass media of India, never stopped referring to him as a “terrorist.” Mamata Banerjee, smug as she sounds these days and deliberately provocative, lied and spoke through both sides of her mouth, when she asked for a judicial inquiry into the killing of Azad, the Politburo member of the Maoists. (Azad was arrested by India’s security forces in Nagpur and then taken into the forests of Andhra and shot dead in an “encounter.” The Indian Police Forces have earned worldwide infamy for the way they blatantly lie and kill militants in cold blood after arresting them.) Mamata Banerjee even insisted on the withdrawal of the Joint Forces from Jungle Mahal, in her election Manifesto. Then she went back on her word after she was elected. If there was ever a two timing liar in Bengal politics, Mamata Banerjee wins the award, hands down. Surrounded by a flock of sycophantic grease balls, Mamata Banerjee has exposed her hollow pronouncements about “bringing back democracy” to Bengal, within a short span of six months, by unleashing the Joint Forces on the Maoists and the people of Jungle Mahal.
From organizing the Lalgarh movement alongside his comrades in various mass movements and developing a tremendous savvy with the media, Kishenji was a stalwart Indian revolutionary, who dedicated his entire life to “serving the people.” He was responsible with his comrades, to set up the rudiments of peoples’ court, rural schooling systems, irrigation ditches, mobile hospitals and dispensaries.
Now, he did not have a fierce and handsome visage like Che Guevara, who fought only about fifteen to eighteen years in the jungles of Cuba, Angola and Bolivia, with relatively sophisticated arms including armored carriers and battle tanks at some point. Kishenji’s pictures are sparse, always with his head covered by a shawl to conceal his identity. He will never be known as widely as Che—but here was an Indian hero who fought till the end for his people, AK-47 by his side. He was neither a romantic, nor a demagogue. He simply was a mature revolutionary who needs to be remembered.
In this world, chock full of theories of change, ideological confusion, flawed movements and asinine sanctification of non-violence, (while structural violence is left ignored), Kishenji was a warrior for peace.

छुट्टैराज्यको आन्दोलन गर्नेहरूले कुनै 'होमवर्क' नगरि आन्दोलनको घोषणा गर्नुको अर्थ फेरि पहाडमा जुलूसबाजी, धर्ना, अनशन, जीएल नम्बर, तोडफोड, हत्या अनि असहयोग आन्दोलनलाई नै संकेत गरेको हो कि? वास्तवमा छुट्टैराज्यको आन्दोलन पहाडका सबै दल, सङ्घ संस्थाहरूले सामुहिकरुपले गर्नु पर्ने हो तर एउटा दलले पनि नभएर त्यो दलको एउटा सानो अङ्गले छुट्टैराज्यको आन्दोलन गर्छु भन्नुले छुट्टैराज्यलाई मोर्चाले साह्रै हलुको पाराले लिएको देखिन्छ| आलोचकहरूले युवा मोर्चाले आन्दोलनको निम्ति मात्र आन्दोलन गरिरहेको हो ? भन्ने प्रश्नहरू उटाइरहेका छन्| जीटीएको सम्झौता खारेज गरेर मोर्चा फेरि छुट्टैराज्यको निम्ति अघि आए फेरि पनि सबैले मोर्चालाई सहयोग गर्ने नै भइरहेकको छ तर मोर्चाले जीटीएको सम्झौता खोरेज गरेर के आन्दोलनमा अघि आउँछ त? अहिलेसम्म मोर्चाले कसैलाई यसबारे विश्वस्त गराउन सकेको छैन| आलोचकहरूले मोर्चाको युवा मोर्चाको आन्दोलनको परिँति पनि शीघ्र नै जनताले देख्न पाउने अनि मोर्चाले जनताबाट छुट्टैराज्यको सवालमा विश्वास गुमाउने हो कि भन्ने शंका पनि गर्न थालेको छ|
