KalimNews, Kalimpong, 21 March 2011: Well known theater personality C.K. Shrestha has desired to turn the Gorkhas spread throughout the country as identified Congress voters. While interacting with the local media in Kalimpong today Shrestha, who was earlier associated with the national level non-political body named Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh as its Working President, disclosed that he has already initiated to form a body in the name of United Gorkha Forum for Congress (UGFC) with headquarters based at Guwahati.
Shrestha, who is the Convenor of ad-hoc committee of newly formed UGFC said that the official declaration of the formation of this organisation would be made in a convention of the Gorkhas of North-East India to be held at Sabitri Dharmashala, Kalchini, Duars on 27th March, 2011.
Shrestha was here today to distribute invitation letters to the likeminded friends and sympathisers of the Congress party also faced the local media. Though he declined to disclose more details about the yet to be announced forum, it was revealed that the main agenda of the forum was to campaign in favour of Congress candidates to draw the Gorkha votes in Assam and West Bengal where the assembly polls are scheduled very soon. Shrestha viewed that the non-political organisations have their own limitation while the political forum and pressure groups could play important role in power politics.
The ad-hoc committee of the above formation inclused L.D. Sharma and Krishna Bhujel from Guwahati, D.B. Sonar from Margherita, Upper Assam, Chandra Poudyel from Sonitpur, Kuber Chhetri, BTAD, Assam, Prof. Deep Sharma from Aizawl, Binod Joshi from Shillong, Amar Karki from Pasi Ghat, Arunachal Pradesh, C.B. Chhetri from Mantri Pokhari, Manipur, D.R. Gurung from Gangtok, Sikkim, Bishnu Chhetri from Kalimpong, Tilak Sharma from Kalchini, Dooars.

भागोपका केही स्वार्थीहरूले टिकटको निम्ति लमीको काम गर्दैछ-लीग
मनोज बोगटी, कालिमन्युज, कालेबुङ, 21 मार्च। छाता सङ्गठन ठानिने भागोपले जब विधानसभा चुनाउको कुरा गर्योब तबदेखि भारतीय गोर्खालीगले भागोपलाई शंकाले हेर्न थालेको बुझिएको छ। यता आज भागोप जोन-2 का अध्यक्ष प्रभाकरण देवानले भने, गोर्खाल्याण्डको पक्षमा सबै दलको एकता र जनताको कटिबद्धता स्पष्ट पार्न भागोपले सबै दल मिलेर विधानसभा चुनाउमा लड्नुपर्ने कुरा गरेको हो। भागोपका कसैलाई पनि चौकीको लोभ छैन। केवल गोर्खाल्याण्डलाई केन्द्र गर्दै यस चुनाउमार्फत गोर्खाल्याण्डको जनमत देखाउन विधानसभा चुनाउको कुरा भागोपले गरे हो।
तिनले भागोपले आफ्नो पक्षको कुरा राखेको अनि मान्नु नमान्नु दलहरूकै इच्छा रहेको पनि जनाए। यता गोर्खालीग केन्द्रिय समितिका सदस्य प्रताप खातीले भागोपभित्र केही स्वार्थीतत्व रहेको अनि उनीहरूले विधानसभा चुनाउमा टिकट पाउँछु कि भन्ने आशामा लमीको कार्य गरिरहेको जनाउँदै भने, हामीले भागोपलाई छाता सङ्गठन मानेका थियौं, तर यसलाई कालेबुङमा नै सिमित पारिने कार्य भयो। अराजनैतिक सङ्गठनले यो चलखेल कतै विधानसभा चुनाउसम्मको निम्ति मात्र होइन भन्ने शंका भागोपले उत्पन्न गरेको छ।
यता तिनले लीगले चुनाउको निम्ति पूर्ण तयारी गरिसकेको बताउँदै सबै दलले सबै खुलासा गरिसकेपछि आफ्नो दलले आफ्नो रणनीतिबारे खुलासा गर्ने बताए। तिनले मोर्चाले बोलाएको सर्वदलीय बैठकमा जानेहरूलाई मोर्चाले मुर्ख बनाइरहेको बताउँदै भने, मोर्चाको मूल मुद्दा स्पष्ट छैन। न त उनीहरूको कुरा नै विश्वास योग्य छ। 10मार्चमा गोर्खाल्याण्ड हुन्छ भन्यो घरि सेटअप, घरि गोर्खाआदिवासी प्रदेश, घरि के घरि के भनिरहने मोर्चाको कुन कुरा पत्याउनु? विधानसभा चुनाउको कारण दुइवर्षसम्म सरकारले कुनै कुरा दिन सक्दैन भनेर सेटअप भन्यो, अब के भन्छ कुन्नी?
चुनाउमा लाटा लङ्गड़ोहरू उठाउँछु भन्नेहरू साझाको कुरा गरिरहेका छन्। घरिघरि भाका फेर्ने मात्र होइन हाम्रो नेताको हत्या गर्ने, हत्यारा, गाड़ी तोड़फोड़ गर्ने, समाज वहिष्कार गर्ने, आफ्नै दाजुभाई खेदाउने, कुट्ने, लुट्ने, धुत्ने मोर्चाको कुरा पत्याउँदै बैठकमा जानु मुर्ख हुनु बाहेक अर्को केही होइन। लीग स्पष्ट छ, लड़ाई प्राधिकरण र गोर्खाल्याण्डबीच हुनेछ।

मनोज बोगटी, कालिमन्युज,कालेबुङ, 21 मार्च। देशमा गोर्खाहरूको राजनैतिक उपस्थिति अथवा उनीहरूको राजनैतिक अवदान सङ्गठितरुपले चिन्हित हुनुपर्ने विषयलाई आजको अनिवार्यता ठानिएको छ। समय र परिस्थितिलाई उचितरूपले मूल्याङ्कन गर्न नसकिए कुनै पनि कार्मिक पक्ष फाइदाजनक हुनसक्दैन। यसैकारण भारतभरि छरिएका गोर्खाहरूको राजनैतिक उपस्थितिलाई सङ्गठितरूपले केन्द्रियकरण गर्न हामी अधि बढ़ेका छौं-यूनाइटेड गोर्खा फोरम फर कंग्रेस-को परिकल्पना बोकेर, यसको सम्पूर्ण तानाबाना बुनिसकेर यस सङ्गठनको आधिकारिक घोषणा गर्न आयोजित कार्यक्रममा उपस्थितिको निम्तो गर्न आयोजित पत्रकार सम्मेलनलाई सम्बोधन गर्दै सी.के. श्रेष्टले उक्त कुरा भने।
मुख्य गरी देशभरि छरिएका गोर्खाहरूको भोटलाई सङ्गठित र घोषितरूप दिएर भारतीय राजनीतिको मूलधारामा गोर्खाहरूको उपस्थिति दाखिला गर्न यूनाइटेड गोर्खा फोरम फर कंग्रेस नामक राजनैतिक सङ्गठन गठन गरिएको श्रेष्टले पत्रकारहरूलाई जनाएका छन्। गौहाटीमा यस सङ्गठनको आधिकारिक घोषणा गर्ने तरताम्य भइरहेको भए पनि कतिपय कारणले यसको घोषणा कालचिनीमा गरिने तिनले जनाएका छन्। 27 मार्चको दिन चालचिनीको सावित्री धर्मशालाबाट यो सङ्गठन अस्तित्वमा आएको घोषणा गरिनेछ। यस कार्यक्रममा श्रेष्टद्वारा कंग्रेसका वरिष्ट नेतृत्व, शुभचिन्तक, कार्यकर्ता, समर्थकहरूलाई उपस्थित बनिदिने अपील पनि गरिएको छ। तिनले भने अनुसार अहिले फोरमको नर्थइष्ट च्याप्टर गठित छ अनि अन्य च्याप्टरहरू गठन हुँदै जानेछ।
तिनी गठित च्याप्टरका संयोजक रहेका छन् भने असम, अप्पर असम, मिजोराम, शिलाङ, अरुणाचल प्रदेश, मणिपुर, सिक्किम, दार्जीलिङ, डुवर्सका प्रतिनिधिहरू पनि सामेल रहेका छन्। अहिलेको निम्ति संक्षिप्तरूपमा सङ्गठनबारे जनाउँदै तिनले भने, यो सङ्गठनद्वारा देशमा नै सबैभन्दा दह्रो, बौद्धिक र लोकप्रिय राजनैतिक दल कंग्रेसलाई सङ्गठित र बलियो बनाउन गोर्खाहरूको मत सङ्गठित गरिनेछ। तिनले यसको कारण खोल्दै राष्ट्रिय राजनीतिक परिप्रेक्ष्यमा नेपाली भाषी गोर्खा जाति संदर्भहीन, राजनैतिक शरणार्थीहरू झैं रहेको बताउँदै भने, हामी बिहेमा भॉंड़ामा माझ्न बोलाइएका हेल्परहरूझैं भएका छौं, न बेहुलीपट्टिको न बेहुलापट्टिको।
राजनैतिक कुश्तीको अखड़ामा हाम्रो कुनै पहलवान छैन। पहलवान नभएपछि पहिचान छैन, तम्बु पनि छैन। अहिलेसम्म अर्का कै यो तम्बु त्यो तम्बु चहारिरहेका छौं, जनाकांक्षाका मेमोरेण्डम बोकेर। तर कसैसित पनि विश्वासनीयता कामय राख्न सकेका छैनौं। यता भारतका धेरै राज्यका अधिकांश नेपालीभाषी गोर्खाहरूले पारम्परिकरूपमा नै कंग्रेसलाई समर्थन दिँदै आइरहेको छ। देशमा 84 प्रतिशत भोट गोर्खाहरूले कंग्रेसलाई दिँदै आइरहेको तथ्य छ। भोट नै दिन्छौं भने किन सङ्गठित र घोषितरूपले नदिने जब कि कंग्रेसको वर्चस्व वा शासन दिर्घमियादी छ। घॉंस त हाल्दैछौं तर सुटुक्क। न गाईलाई थाहा छ न मालिकलाई। यसोभएकोले गोर्खाहरूले कुनै पनि सहुलियत पाइरहेका छैनन्। राष्ट्रिय राजनीतिको मूलधारामा गोर्खाहरूको हेलमेल, विभिन्न राज्यहरूमा गोर्खाजातीको राजनैतिक सुरक्षा र गोर्खाजातीको आकांक्षा पूर्तिको निम्ति कंग्रेस पार्टीबाहेक अर्को विकल्प छैन।
तिनले कंग्रेसलाई नै घोषितरूपले मत प्रदान गरे गोर्खाहरूको आकांक्षाको सवाललाई स्थापित गर्न सकिने कुरामा विश्वास गर्दै यो फोरमको अवधारणा बनाइएको तिनले थपे। नाटक साहित्यमा ख्याती कमाइसकेका अनि भागोपमा प्रभावकारी प्रतिनिधि रहेर आफ्नो कार्यकौशलताको परिचय दिइसकेका श्रेष्टले उप्रान्त राजनीतिमा कटिबद्ध रहने स्पष्ट संकेत दिएका छन्। कंग्रेस दलको विस्तारण अनि यसको अस्तित्वलाई बलियो गर्न अब फोरम मार्फत दोशभरिका गोर्खाहरूलाई एकिकृत गर्ने पहलमा फोरमले कार्य गर्ने बताइएको छ। यसअर्थमा बङ्गालको विधानसभा चुनाउमा पनि फोरमले कंग्रेसलाई जिताउन उल्लेखनीय पहल गर्ने स्पष्ट छ। तिनले भने, यहॉं मात्र होइन जम्मै नर्थइष्टमा कंग्रेसलाई मतप्रदान गराइने कार्य फोरमले गर्नेछ। तिनले कंग्रेस बाहेक अर्को विकल्प गोर्खाहरूसित नरहेकोले फोरमको अवधारणा तयार पारिएको अनि गोर्खाहरूको जम्मै समस्याको समाधानको जड़ पनि कंग्रेस नै रहेको तिनले जनाएका छन्।
अहिले पहाड़मा विधानसभाको हुरी निक्कै जोड़ले चलिरहेको अनि क्षेत्रीय दलहरूले साझा उम्मेद्वारिताको अवधारणा निर्माण गरिरहेको अवस्थामा फोरमको यो अवधारणाले निक्कै जोड़ले वैचारिक हस्तक्षेप गर्ने सम्भावना देखापरेको छ।
SPA meeting held
KalimNews, GANGTOK, 21 Mar: The first meeting of recently formed an ad-hoc committee of Sikkim Press Association [SPA] was held on 19 March here at Press Club of Sikkim.
The meeting was chaired by the President of ad-hoc committee, Xavier Subba and was attended by the executive members of the committee.
The meeting has discussed over the present financial condition of the SPA and further discussed on fund raising.
After discussion, the meeting unanimously decided Rs 100 as entry fee to the association and Rs 30 per month a membership fee. It was also decided that the defaulters in membership fee for three months in series will be served with show cause notice from the association and followed by appropriate fine.
The meeting has also handed over the responsibility to design SPA’s logo to Bijay Gurung.
The meeting has thoroughly discussed on to take out SPA’s souvenir soon in this year. For the same, the meeting has also constituted a Souvenir Committee headed by Biru Bangdel.
The meeting has also decided to appoint the IPR Minister permanently as the Chief Patron of the SPA and regarding the same the executive members of the association is scheduled to meet the IPR Minister next week.
Earlier, the meeting has also observed silence for the victims of Tsunami and earthquake in Japan and of veteran journalist, late Shiva Pradhan’s son, who recently pass away in the capital.The SPA has still opened its membership for all the journalists.

Vivek Chhetri, TT, Darjeeling, March 21: The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha has initiated a process to field “consensus” nominees for the three Darjeeling seats but is unsure of its strategy — or if it will be able to find candidates who would be acceptable to all major hill parties.
As a result, the process of finalising the list of candidates is getting delayed, spurring other hill parties to adopt a wait-and-watch strategy.
Sawan Rai, a leader of the CPRM, which took part in the nine-party meeting on March 18 where the idea of the consensus candidates was largely accepted, said: “The Morcha has to take the initiative. As they are the largest party, we are waiting for their feedback.”
Other parties also concurred that finding candidates acceptable to all would be difficult.
“The biggest issue is whether candidates selected by the Morcha would be acceptable to the other parties,” said another CPRM leader. “It also needs to be seen whether the Morcha will gain much politically if they decide to nominate apolitical persons acceptable by all.”
Rai also said that the other parties had expected the Morcha would form a committee comprising representatives of all political outfits, something that did not happen. “I don’t think a candidate nominated only by the Morcha would be accepted by the others,” Rai said. “In fact, it was decided that all the parties would be consulted and it is time for the Morcha to show their sincerity.”
Morcha general secretary Roshan Giri today said: “We are holding our central committee meeting on March 24. I think a final decision will be taken only after the meeting.” Earlier Morcha spokesperson Harka Bahadur Chhetri had said the party decision would be announced either on March 22 or 23.
The delay in the Morcha announcement seems to have a ripple effect on the ABGL. Sources said the ABGL, which had stayed away from the Morcha meeting in Darjeeling, has decided to announce its candidates only after March 25. “If the “consensus candidate” attempt fails, then the ABGL would need to negotiate with the other parties including the CPRM,” said an observer.
Till now, only the Left Front has announced its candidates. While the CPM’s K.B. Wattar and Deepa Chhetri will contest from Darjeeling and Kurseong, the CPI’s Bikram Chhetri has been fielded in Kalimpong.
The Morcha had not invited the CPM and the GNLF to its meeting, describing them as parties that were not in favour of Gorkhaland.

TT, Siliguri, March 21: The Left Front candidate for Kalimpong today blamed lack of development in the past 30 years for the turmoil in the Darjeeling hills while senior leaders struggled to cover up for the CPI green horn, saying the criticism was aimed at the DGHC and not the state government.
I will contest from the Kalimpong seat with the intention to work for the development of the hills as in past 30 years there has been no development across the hills..,” said the CPI’s Bikram Chhetri after urban development minister Asok Bhattacharya introduced him to the media. Chhetri, in his thirties, is the working president of the AIYF, the youth wing of the CPI.

No sooner had he finished his speech, than Sarkar snatched a microphone and rattled off an elaborate campaign plan.
“We have requested politburo member Sitaram Yechuri to address a meeting in Darjeeling before the polls. The chief minister has been requested to speak at two public meetings in the plains,” Sarkar said. “Our candidates will file their nominations on March 24 and 28.”
By the time Sarkar stopped speaking, Chowdhury had escorted Chhetri out of the room.

प्रविण खालिंग, कालिमयुज, गान्तोक,21 मार्च। पश्चिम सिक्किमको भारत-नेपाल सीमाबाट अनुप्रवेश गर्ने दुइ अमेरिकी नागरिक समेत चारजना आरोपीले आज जमानीमा मुक्ति पाए। उत्तरेको नजीक धापमा नेपाली भूमीबाट इनर लाइन परमिट (आइएलपी) विनै सिक्किम प्रवेश गरेका इरिक रीड अनि ब्राड सेण्डर अनि स्थानीय प्यारा ग्लाइडिङ व्यापसायी गणेश कुमार राई अनि राजु राईलाई जिल्ला अदालतले 19 तारिक मार्च कै दिन जमानीमा मुक्त गर्ने आदेश दिए पनि पुलिस हिरासतको मियाद आज 21 मार्चसम्म भएको हुनाले उत्तरे पुलिसले सोमबार चारै आरोपीलाई मुक्त गरेको डीआईजी (रेञ्ज) एन श्रीधर रावले बताएका छन्।
उल्लेखनीय छ दुइ अमेरिकी लगयात चार आरोपीहरूले प्रतिबन्धित क्षेत्रमा आइएलपी विनै प्रवेश गरेको आरोपमा फरेनर्स एक्टको धारा 14 अन्तर्गत मुद्दा दर्ता गरेर पक्राउ गरिएको थियो। दुइ अमेरिका नागरिक नेपाल भएर सिक्किमको भूमीमा अनुमति बिनै प्यारा ग्लाइडिङबाट अवतरण गरेका थिए। उनीहरूले 14 मार्चको दिन भारतीय भूमीमा अवतरण गरेका थिए भने 16 तारिक पुलिसले उत्तरे बजारबाट दुवैलाई क्यामेरा, प्याराग्लाइडिङको सामान सहित पक्राउ गरेको थियो।
जमानीमा पुलिसले आरोपीहरूलाई छोडेको भए पनि आरोप पत्र (चार्जसिट) दर्ता नगरेसम्म जाँच अधिकारी (आइओ) समक्ष सप्ताहमा एकपल्ट हाजिरी लगाउऩे निर्देश न्यायालयले दिएको डीआइजी रावले जानकारी दिए।

प्रविण खालिंग, कालिमयुज, गान्तोक, 21 मार्च। सिक्किमको राजनीतिमा एकाएक चर्चाको विषय बन्न पुगेको पश्चिम सिक्किमको सोरेङ-च्याखुङ निर्वाचन क्षेत्रको सिङलिङ गाउँमा 18 मार्चको अपराह्न भएको प्राण घातक आक्रमणको मुख्य आरोपी जीवन गुरुङलाई पुलिसले सोमबार पक्राउ गरिएको छ भने अहिले क्षेत्रमा स्थिति सामान्य रहेको पुलिस उपमहानिर्देशक (रेञ्ज) एन श्रीधररावले बताएका छन्।उनले घटनाको वेलिबिस्तारसित व्याख्यान गर्दै पुलिसको कार्वाहीको पक्ष पत्रकारहरूलाई अवगत गराए। उनले दिएको जानकारी अनुसार 18 मार्चको दिन स्थानीय विधायक तथा मन्त्री आर बी सुब्बा पार्टीको घर दैलो अभियानमासिङलिङ पुगेका थिए। अनि आक्रमणमा घाइते बनेका राजेन तामङको घरमा उनको निम्ति चिया-चमेनाको व्यावस्था गरिएको थियो जुन व्यवस्था पिडीतको बुहारीले गरेको भए पनि परिवारका अन्य केही सदस्यहरूलाई आपत्ती भएको हुनाले विवाद उब्जिएको थियो। डीआइजी रावले अझ भने, चिया चमेना गराउने
कार्यक्रमको स्थानीय व्यक्तिहरूले पनि विरोध गरेका थिए त्यसपछि व्यवस्था गर्ने महिलाले जीवन गुरूङलाई गुहार मागेर उजुरी गर्दा घटना घटेको प्रारम्भीक चरणको छानवीनमा थाहा लागेको छ। यद्यपी घटनाको समय कुनै पनि साक्षी नभएकोले मामिला अझै गम्भीर अवस्थामै रहेको उनले बताए।उनले पिडीत राजेन तामाङ भने त्यसबेला घरैमा आफ्नी बहिनीहरूसित टिभी हेरिरहेका थिए।
अचानक उनीमाथि आक्रमण भएको उनको बहिनीहरूले बताएको डीआइजी रावले जनाए। उनले बताए अनुसार घटना पछि स्थिति असामान्य भएको अनि उत्तेजित भीडले दंगा गर्दै आरोपी गुरूङको पिछा गर्दै जाँदा मन्त्री सुब्बाको वाहन लगभग एकसय मिटर पर रोकिएको अवस्थामा भेटेर तोडफोड गर्नका साथै मन्त्रीलाई मानहानी हुने बचन प्रयोग गर्दै कुट्ने प्रयास गरेका थिए। तर घटनास्थलमा मन्त्री सुब्बा नरहेको दावी उनले गरेका छन्।
अर्कोतिर घटना पछि तोडफोड गर्दै दंगा गरेको आरोपमा पुलिसले मन्त्री सुब्बाको चलक इन्द्रकुमार गुरूङको प्राथमिकीको आधारमा आठजना स्थानीय नागरिक लगायत पाँच जना अज्ञात पश्चिम बंगालको टिस्टा निवासी व्यक्ति विरूद्ध मामिला दर्ता गरेर कार्वाही शुरु गरेको उनले बताए। आठजना आरोपी मध्ये तीन जना सरकारी कर्मचारी रहेको बताए।सिङलिङका ती आठजना आरोपीका नाम विकाससिंह तामाङ, गौरीमाया तामाङ, गीता छेत्री, विन तामाङ, दावा तामाङ, फूर्वा तामाङ, सुकराज सुब्बा अनि प्रताप तामङ रहेको डीआईजी रावले बताए।आरोपीहरू विरूद्ध भारती दण्ड संहिताको धारा 147,148,149,323,427 अनि पब्लिक प्रोपर्टी प्रोटेक्शन एक्टको धारा 3 अन्तर्गत मुद्दा दर्ता गरिएको उनले बताए। यी सबै आरोपीहरूलाई छिट्टै पक्राउ गरिने तथा सरकारी कर्माचारीहरूको नालीबेली खोजिने बताएका छन्।
अर्कोतिर घटनापछि घाइते राजेन तामाङको पिता धनबहादुर तामाङले पुलिसलाई दिएको लिखित प्रार्थमिकीमा मन्त्री सुब्बाको नाम उल्लेख गरिएको भए पनि स्पष्टरूपमा उनी त्यो घटनासित सम्बन्धित भएको उल्लेख गर्दै आरोपीत नगरिएको डीआईजीले बताए। यद्यपी घटनामा लागेको पर्दा उठाउन कानुन अनुसार कतिपय विषयमा मन्त्री सुब्बालाई पनि जानकारीहरू मागिने तथा सोधखोज गरिने उनले बताए।
सिङलिङमा स्थिति सामान्य भएको तथा घटनाको दिन स्थिति असन्तुलित हुँदा पिपलेबाट दुइ कम्पनी आइआरबीको जवान तैनाथ गरेर घटनास्थलको स्थितिलाई राति 2 बजी नियन्त्रण गरिएको तथा हिजो आइतबार आइजी कानुन आदेश एसडी नेगी अनि पुलिसका अन्य उच्च पदाधिकारीहरूले क्षेत्रको भ्रमण गर्नका साथै जिल्लापालको हस्तक्षेपमा स्थानीय आक्रोशित समुहसित बातचीत गरिएको बताए। उनले अहिले पनि सिङलिङ क्षेत्रमा पुलिस गस्ती निरन्तर रहेको तथा सोरेङ थानामा दुइ प्लाटुन सिक्किम सशस्त्र पुलिस (एसएपी)-का जवान तैनाथ राखेर सुरक्षा बलियो पारिएको बताए।

पत्रकारहरूसित कुराकानी गर्दै प्रमुख संयोजक भरत बस्नेतले भने, आगामी 26 अप्रेलसम्म राज्य भरि हस्ताक्षर अभियान गोर्खाल्याण्ड राज्य गठनको निम्ति गरिनेछ। 26 अप्रेल सिक्किमको ऐतिहासिक दिन हो त्यसै दिन 1975 मा सिक्किम भारतमा विलय भएको थियो त्यसै महत्वपूर्ण दिनलाई साक्षी राखेर हामी प्रतिनिधि टोली दिल्ली गएर राष्ट्रपति, प्रधानमन्त्री, युपीए अध्यक्ष, सबै विपक्षी दलका नेता,सासंदहरूलाई गोर्खाल्याण्ड गठनबारे ज्ञापन सितै संग्रह गरिएको हस्ताक्षर र जनताको चाहना राखिदिने छौं।
उनले भारत सरकारलाई गोर्खाल्याण्डको औचित्यबारे बताउदै भने, भारत स्वाधिन भएको 64 वर्षमा पनि दार्जीलिङ र प्रस्तावित गोर्खाल्याण्ड क्षेत्रका वासिन्दाले यो देशबाट केही पाएको छैन, बंगालले त झन अहिलेसम्म दार्जीलिङलाई एक तुरक्का पानी समेत पिलाउनु सकेको छैन्, गोर्खाहरूले ब्रिटिसले बनाइदिएको पानी, चियाबारी र पर्यटन मै गुजारा गरिरहेको छ कहिले देशलाई केही मागेन, अब गोर्खाल्याण्ड दिनु पर्छ त्यसले मात्र गोर्खाहरूले देश निर्माण र अखण्डतामा पुऱ्याएको योगदानको कदर हुनेछ, उनले कठोर हुँदै भने। अर्कोतिर गोर्खाल्याण्ड मुद्दालाई खेलाँची नगरि यसको निम्ति पहिलो चरणमा मारिएका 12 सय सहीद र अहिलेको चरणमा 5 जनाको ज्यानको हिसाब कुनै अन्य व्यवस्थाले गर्न नसक्ने बताउँदै 1988 को एकर्डमा रहेको तीन पक्षको दोषले गोर्खाहरूको भविष्य डवाँडोल बनेको हुनाले त्यसको मुख्य अपराधीमाथि कार्वाही हुनु पर्ने संयोजक बस्नेतले बताए।
उनले यो हस्ताक्षर अभियानमा मोबाइ नम्बरमा एसएमएस गरेर हुन्छ कि इमेलमा जानकारी पठाएर हुन्छ सबै सिक्किमेले हस्ताक्षर गरेर छिमेकीलाई परेको बेला सहयोग गर्नुपर्ने आह्वान गरे। उनले यो हस्ताक्षर धेरै भन्दा धेरै र प्रत्येक सिक्किमेले गर्नुपर्ने बताए। यो हस्ताक्षर सितै पेश गरिने ज्ञापनमा गोर्खाल्याण्ड गठन गर्नु पर्ने सबै जरूरी दस्ताबेज र आवश्यकताबारे अवगत गराइने बताए। यसैगरि आन्दोलनलाई तिब्रता दिन र जनतालाई गोर्खाल्याण्डको मागबारे जागरूक गराउन आगामी 23 मार्चको दिन पूर्व सिक्किमको पाकिम बजारमा जनसभा आयोजन गरिएको बताउँदै यसमा सबैको सहभागिताको अपेक्षा गरे।
यसैगरि संयोजक सीसी साङदर्पाले आफ्नो सम्बोधनमा भने, गोर्खाहरूले हजारौंले बलिदान दिइरहेको छ तर सिक्किमबाट गोर्खाल्याण्डको निम्ति बलिदानै दिन नसके पनि योगदान दिन पछि पर्नु हुँदैन । उनले यो मञ्चले कसैको व्यक्तिगत फाइदा र चासोमा कार्य नगरेर मानवताको नाताले आफ्नो रगतको साइनोको धर्म निर्वाह गरिएको बताइन्। गोर्खाल्याण्डको निम्ति योगदान दिनु सिक्किमेहरूको कर्तव्य रहेको उनले बताइऩ्।

सिङलिङमा स्थिति सामान्य भएको तथा घटनाको दिन स्थिति असन्तुलित हुँदा पिपलेबाट दुइ कम्पनी आइआरबीको जवान तैनाथ गरेर घटनास्थलको स्थितिलाई राति 2 बजी नियन्त्रण गरिएको तथा हिजो आइतबार आइजी कानुन आदेश एसडी नेगी अनि पुलिसका अन्य उच्च पदाधिकारीहरूले क्षेत्रको भ्रमण गर्नका साथै जिल्लापालको हस्तक्षेपमा स्थानीय आक्रोशित समुहसित बातचीत गरिएको बताए। उनले अहिले पनि सिङलिङ क्षेत्रमा पुलिस गस्ती निरन्तर रहेको तथा सोरेङ थानामा दुइ प्लाटुन सिक्किम सशस्त्र पुलिस (एसएपी)-का जवान तैनाथ राखेर सुरक्षा बलियो पारिएको बताए।
गोर्खाल्याण्डको समर्थनमा हस्ताक्षऱ अभियान शुरु- छुट्टै राज्यको मागको निम्ति सिक्किम बोल्नै पर्छः भरत बस्नेत
प्रविण खालिंग, कालिमयुज, गान्तोक, 21 मार्च। छुट्टै राज्य गोर्खाल्य़ाण्डको समर्थनमा सिक्किमबाट आवाज टड्कालो पारेर यो मागलाई राष्ट्रको अघि छ्याङ्ग पार्ने बताउँदै सिक्किम सोलिडेरीटी फोरम फर गोर्खाल्याण्ड (ऐक्यबद्धता मञ्च)-ले आजदेखि राज्य व्यापी हस्ताक्षर अभियान शुरु गऱ्यो। मञ्चको प्रमुख संयोजक भरत बस्नेत, संयोजक सीसी साङदर्पा, महासचिव रूद्र खतिवडा , सल्लाहकार मोहन दहाल लगयात वरिष्ठ पत्रकार तथा वुद्धिजिवी जीग्मी एन. काजीले गोर्खाल्याण्डको पक्षमा हस्ताक्षर गरेर अभियानको विधिवत शुरूआत गरे।
पत्रकारहरूसित कुराकानी गर्दै प्रमुख संयोजक भरत बस्नेतले भने, आगामी 26 अप्रेलसम्म राज्य भरि हस्ताक्षर अभियान गोर्खाल्याण्ड राज्य गठनको निम्ति गरिनेछ। 26 अप्रेल सिक्किमको ऐतिहासिक दिन हो त्यसै दिन 1975 मा सिक्किम भारतमा विलय भएको थियो त्यसै महत्वपूर्ण दिनलाई साक्षी राखेर हामी प्रतिनिधि टोली दिल्ली गएर राष्ट्रपति, प्रधानमन्त्री, युपीए अध्यक्ष, सबै विपक्षी दलका नेता,सासंदहरूलाई गोर्खाल्याण्ड गठनबारे ज्ञापन सितै संग्रह गरिएको हस्ताक्षर र जनताको चाहना राखिदिने छौं।
उनले भारत सरकारलाई गोर्खाल्याण्डको औचित्यबारे बताउदै भने, भारत स्वाधिन भएको 64 वर्षमा पनि दार्जीलिङ र प्रस्तावित गोर्खाल्याण्ड क्षेत्रका वासिन्दाले यो देशबाट केही पाएको छैन, बंगालले त झन अहिलेसम्म दार्जीलिङलाई एक तुरक्का पानी समेत पिलाउनु सकेको छैन्, गोर्खाहरूले ब्रिटिसले बनाइदिएको पानी, चियाबारी र पर्यटन मै गुजारा गरिरहेको छ कहिले देशलाई केही मागेन, अब गोर्खाल्याण्ड दिनु पर्छ त्यसले मात्र गोर्खाहरूले देश निर्माण र अखण्डतामा पुऱ्याएको योगदानको कदर हुनेछ, उनले कठोर हुँदै भने। अर्कोतिर गोर्खाल्याण्ड मुद्दालाई खेलाँची नगरि यसको निम्ति पहिलो चरणमा मारिएका 12 सय सहीद र अहिलेको चरणमा 5 जनाको ज्यानको हिसाब कुनै अन्य व्यवस्थाले गर्न नसक्ने बताउँदै 1988 को एकर्डमा रहेको तीन पक्षको दोषले गोर्खाहरूको भविष्य डवाँडोल बनेको हुनाले त्यसको मुख्य अपराधीमाथि कार्वाही हुनु पर्ने संयोजक बस्नेतले बताए।
उनले यो हस्ताक्षर अभियानमा मोबाइ नम्बरमा एसएमएस गरेर हुन्छ कि इमेलमा जानकारी पठाएर हुन्छ सबै सिक्किमेले हस्ताक्षर गरेर छिमेकीलाई परेको बेला सहयोग गर्नुपर्ने आह्वान गरे। उनले यो हस्ताक्षर धेरै भन्दा धेरै र प्रत्येक सिक्किमेले गर्नुपर्ने बताए। यो हस्ताक्षर सितै पेश गरिने ज्ञापनमा गोर्खाल्याण्ड गठन गर्नु पर्ने सबै जरूरी दस्ताबेज र आवश्यकताबारे अवगत गराइने बताए। यसैगरि आन्दोलनलाई तिब्रता दिन र जनतालाई गोर्खाल्याण्डको मागबारे जागरूक गराउन आगामी 23 मार्चको दिन पूर्व सिक्किमको पाकिम बजारमा जनसभा आयोजन गरिएको बताउँदै यसमा सबैको सहभागिताको अपेक्षा गरे।
यसैगरि संयोजक सीसी साङदर्पाले आफ्नो सम्बोधनमा भने, गोर्खाहरूले हजारौंले बलिदान दिइरहेको छ तर सिक्किमबाट गोर्खाल्याण्डको निम्ति बलिदानै दिन नसके पनि योगदान दिन पछि पर्नु हुँदैन । उनले यो मञ्चले कसैको व्यक्तिगत फाइदा र चासोमा कार्य नगरेर मानवताको नाताले आफ्नो रगतको साइनोको धर्म निर्वाह गरिएको बताइन्। गोर्खाल्याण्डको निम्ति योगदान दिनु सिक्किमेहरूको कर्तव्य रहेको उनले बताइऩ्।
मनोज बोगटी, कालिमन्युज,कालेबुङ, 21 मार्च। देशमा गोर्खाहरूको राजनैतिक उपस्थिति अथवा उनीहरूको राजनैतिक अवदान सङ्गठितरुपले चिन्हित हुनुपर्ने विषयलाई आजको अनिवार्यता ठानिएको छ। समय र परिस्थितिलाई उचितरूपले मूल्याङ्कन गर्न नसकिए कुनै पनि कार्मिक पक्ष फाइदाजनक हुनसक्दैन। यसैकारण भारतभरि छरिएका गोर्खाहरूको राजनैतिक उपस्थितिलाई सङ्गठितरूपले केन्द्रियकरण गर्न हामी अधि बढ़ेका छौं-यूनाइटेड गोर्खा फोरम फर कंग्रेस-को परिकल्पना बोकेर, यसको सम्पूर्ण तानाबाना बुनिसकेर यस सङ्गठनको आधिकारिक घोषणा गर्न आयोजित कार्यक्रममा उपस्थितिको निम्तो गर्न आयोजित पत्रकार सम्मेलनलाई सम्बोधन गर्दै सी.के. श्रेष्टले उक्त कुरा भने।
मुख्य गरी देशभरि छरिएका गोर्खाहरूको भोटलाई सङ्गठित र घोषितरूप दिएर भारतीय राजनीतिको मूलधारामा गोर्खाहरूको उपस्थिति दाखिला गर्न यूनाइटेड गोर्खा फोरम फर कंग्रेस नामक राजनैतिक सङ्गठन गठन गरिएको श्रेष्टले पत्रकारहरूलाई जनाएका छन्। गौहाटीमा यस सङ्गठनको आधिकारिक घोषणा गर्ने तरताम्य भइरहेको भए पनि कतिपय कारणले यसको घोषणा कालचिनीमा गरिने तिनले जनाएका छन्। 27 मार्चको दिन चालचिनीको सावित्री धर्मशालाबाट यो सङ्गठन अस्तित्वमा आएको घोषणा गरिनेछ। यस कार्यक्रममा श्रेष्टद्वारा कंग्रेसका वरिष्ट नेतृत्व, शुभचिन्तक, कार्यकर्ता, समर्थकहरूलाई उपस्थित बनिदिने अपील पनि गरिएको छ। तिनले भने अनुसार अहिले फोरमको नर्थइष्ट च्याप्टर गठित छ अनि अन्य च्याप्टरहरू गठन हुँदै जानेछ।
तिनी गठित च्याप्टरका संयोजक रहेका छन् भने असम, अप्पर असम, मिजोराम, शिलाङ, अरुणाचल प्रदेश, मणिपुर, सिक्किम, दार्जीलिङ, डुवर्सका प्रतिनिधिहरू पनि सामेल रहेका छन्। अहिलेको निम्ति संक्षिप्तरूपमा सङ्गठनबारे जनाउँदै तिनले भने, यो सङ्गठनद्वारा देशमा नै सबैभन्दा दह्रो, बौद्धिक र लोकप्रिय राजनैतिक दल कंग्रेसलाई सङ्गठित र बलियो बनाउन गोर्खाहरूको मत सङ्गठित गरिनेछ। तिनले यसको कारण खोल्दै राष्ट्रिय राजनीतिक परिप्रेक्ष्यमा नेपाली भाषी गोर्खा जाति संदर्भहीन, राजनैतिक शरणार्थीहरू झैं रहेको बताउँदै भने, हामी बिहेमा भॉंड़ामा माझ्न बोलाइएका हेल्परहरूझैं भएका छौं, न बेहुलीपट्टिको न बेहुलापट्टिको।
राजनैतिक कुश्तीको अखड़ामा हाम्रो कुनै पहलवान छैन। पहलवान नभएपछि पहिचान छैन, तम्बु पनि छैन। अहिलेसम्म अर्का कै यो तम्बु त्यो तम्बु चहारिरहेका छौं, जनाकांक्षाका मेमोरेण्डम बोकेर। तर कसैसित पनि विश्वासनीयता कामय राख्न सकेका छैनौं। यता भारतका धेरै राज्यका अधिकांश नेपालीभाषी गोर्खाहरूले पारम्परिकरूपमा नै कंग्रेसलाई समर्थन दिँदै आइरहेको छ। देशमा 84 प्रतिशत भोट गोर्खाहरूले कंग्रेसलाई दिँदै आइरहेको तथ्य छ। भोट नै दिन्छौं भने किन सङ्गठित र घोषितरूपले नदिने जब कि कंग्रेसको वर्चस्व वा शासन दिर्घमियादी छ। घॉंस त हाल्दैछौं तर सुटुक्क। न गाईलाई थाहा छ न मालिकलाई। यसोभएकोले गोर्खाहरूले कुनै पनि सहुलियत पाइरहेका छैनन्। राष्ट्रिय राजनीतिको मूलधारामा गोर्खाहरूको हेलमेल, विभिन्न राज्यहरूमा गोर्खाजातीको राजनैतिक सुरक्षा र गोर्खाजातीको आकांक्षा पूर्तिको निम्ति कंग्रेस पार्टीबाहेक अर्को विकल्प छैन।
तिनले कंग्रेसलाई नै घोषितरूपले मत प्रदान गरे गोर्खाहरूको आकांक्षाको सवाललाई स्थापित गर्न सकिने कुरामा विश्वास गर्दै यो फोरमको अवधारणा बनाइएको तिनले थपे। नाटक साहित्यमा ख्याती कमाइसकेका अनि भागोपमा प्रभावकारी प्रतिनिधि रहेर आफ्नो कार्यकौशलताको परिचय दिइसकेका श्रेष्टले उप्रान्त राजनीतिमा कटिबद्ध रहने स्पष्ट संकेत दिएका छन्। कंग्रेस दलको विस्तारण अनि यसको अस्तित्वलाई बलियो गर्न अब फोरम मार्फत दोशभरिका गोर्खाहरूलाई एकिकृत गर्ने पहलमा फोरमले कार्य गर्ने बताइएको छ। यसअर्थमा बङ्गालको विधानसभा चुनाउमा पनि फोरमले कंग्रेसलाई जिताउन उल्लेखनीय पहल गर्ने स्पष्ट छ। तिनले भने, यहॉं मात्र होइन जम्मै नर्थइष्टमा कंग्रेसलाई मतप्रदान गराइने कार्य फोरमले गर्नेछ। तिनले कंग्रेस बाहेक अर्को विकल्प गोर्खाहरूसित नरहेकोले फोरमको अवधारणा तयार पारिएको अनि गोर्खाहरूको जम्मै समस्याको समाधानको जड़ पनि कंग्रेस नै रहेको तिनले जनाएका छन्।
अहिले पहाड़मा विधानसभाको हुरी निक्कै जोड़ले चलिरहेको अनि क्षेत्रीय दलहरूले साझा उम्मेद्वारिताको अवधारणा निर्माण गरिरहेको अवस्थामा फोरमको यो अवधारणाले निक्कै जोड़ले वैचारिक हस्तक्षेप गर्ने सम्भावना देखापरेको छ।
SPA meeting held
KalimNews, GANGTOK, 21 Mar: The first meeting of recently formed an ad-hoc committee of Sikkim Press Association [SPA] was held on 19 March here at Press Club of Sikkim.
The meeting was chaired by the President of ad-hoc committee, Xavier Subba and was attended by the executive members of the committee.
The meeting has discussed over the present financial condition of the SPA and further discussed on fund raising.
After discussion, the meeting unanimously decided Rs 100 as entry fee to the association and Rs 30 per month a membership fee. It was also decided that the defaulters in membership fee for three months in series will be served with show cause notice from the association and followed by appropriate fine.
The meeting has also handed over the responsibility to design SPA’s logo to Bijay Gurung.
The meeting has thoroughly discussed on to take out SPA’s souvenir soon in this year. For the same, the meeting has also constituted a Souvenir Committee headed by Biru Bangdel.
The meeting has also decided to appoint the IPR Minister permanently as the Chief Patron of the SPA and regarding the same the executive members of the association is scheduled to meet the IPR Minister next week.
Earlier, the meeting has also observed silence for the victims of Tsunami and earthquake in Japan and of veteran journalist, late Shiva Pradhan’s son, who recently pass away in the capital.The SPA has still opened its membership for all the journalists.
G0RKHAS DESERVE STATE OF THEIR OWN:P A SANGMA
KalimNews, BGPMC, Shillong, March 20: Former Lok Sabha Speaker and Nationalist Congress Party leader Purno A Sangma believes that the Gorkhas of India deserve to have a state of their own.
Talking to a delegation of the Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh, led by its Working President Rev Dr Enos Das Pradhan in Shillong, Sangma said that he has always been in favour of smaller states and he viewed the demand for Gorkhaland as just and deserving.
“I fully support the demand of the Gorkhas of India for a separate state of their own,” emphasised Sangma.
He said that he had interacted with the Gorkhas in the Northeast and he knew how patriotic, trustworthy and hardworking they were. He added that he would assist the Gorkhas in whatever way he could to ensure that their demand did not go in vain. Sangma said that he had met with some political parties from Darjeeling and had conveyed to them his support too.
The BGP team, comprising members of the Northeast units of the organization and including BGP Zone 1 Coordinator BB Chettri and Meghalaya General Secretary JN Koirala, apprised Sangma of their appreciation for the way he had recognized the aspirations of the Gorkhas. They also congratulated him on trying to provide a platform for the entire region through his new Northeastern Democratic Front and hoped that the former Lok Sabha Speaker would continue to take the problems of this culturally rich region to the national level.
Rev Dr Pradhan also held meetings with units of the BGP in the Northeast and discussed pan-India Gorkha issues like the demand for a separate state as well as organizational matters. The BGP is keen to ensure especially that the youth of the region are empowered to serve country, society and community and will come up with programmes to harness the energy of the youth in in nation building.
Trinamul gets a taste of dissent over candidature
SNS, JALPAIGURI, 21 MARCH: The Trinamul Congress activists of Mainaguri block today clashed with the district Trinamul leaders over the nomination of Mrs Juthika Roy Basunia from Mainaguri constituency of Jalpaiguri district.The clash took place at Jalpaiguri District Trinamul Congress party office. It was reported that the party members allegedly assaulted the district Trinamul leaders Mr Gautam Deb and Mr Khageswar Roy in front of the district Trinamul Sabhapati, Mr Krishna Kumar Kalyani.
The working block president, Mainaguri, Mr Kamal Das, said that the party leaders have betrayed the members. He said that the Trinamul members of Mainaguri had requested Trinamul leader Mr Mukul Roy to field a local candidate for Mainaguri constituency. But they selected Mrs Roy Basunia, who resides in Jalpaiguri and is not aware of the day to day problems faced by the locals as well as their long-standing demands. He said that the Trinamul lost their chance of winning the seat declaring an outsider as a candidate. He said that on Monday they came to the district Trinamul sabhapati to venture their grievances over the candidate. They requested Mr Krishna Kumar Kalyani to withdraw the candidate. But when some district leaders protested the situation turned hostile. The Trinamul supporters from Mainaguri gheraoed those leaders and assaulted them.
Mr Krishna Kumar Kalyani, however, said: “We are not the decision-makers. I did not send any names to Miss Mamata Banerjee. Those who wanted to be nominated had sent their names personally. Our duty is to support them and campaign for them.”
On Monday, not only Trinamul members from Mainaguri block but also from Dhupguri and Kumargram were present at the district party office. The block town president, Dhupguri, said that they were against the candidature of Ms Mina Burman while the Trinamul supporters of Kumargram said that they were against of Mr Joachim Baxla's candidature.
