मनोज वोगटी, कालिमन्युज, कालेबुङ, 26 फरवरी। गोर्खा जनमुक्ति मोर्चाका अध्यक्ष विमल गुरूङ अनि अन्य केन्द्रिय प्रतिनिधिहरू भोली हुने जनसभाको तयारीमा छन्। कुमानीदेखि केही माथि तल्लो कुमाइको जनमैदानमा जनसभाको तयारी चलिरहेको छ। गुरूङ डुवर्स यात्राको निम्ति दार्जीलिङबाट हिँड़ेका थिए तर तिनलाई डुवर्स पस्ने अऩुमति बङ्गाल सरकारले दिएन। अहिलेसम्म नै मोर्चाका सबै भातृसङ्गठनहरूले मोर्चा अध्यक्ष विमल गुरूङलाई डुवर्स यात्राको निम्ति अनुमति दिनुपर्ने मागमा विभिन्न कार्यक्रम गरिरहेको छ। सबै भातृसङ्गठनहरूले अनुमतिको निम्ति चाप दिइरहेको भएपनि बङ्गाल सरकार कानमा तेल हालेर बसेको छ। बङ्गाल सरकार चलमल नगरेको कारण डुवर्सका मोर्चा समर्थकहरू रातारात हिँड़ेर नै कुमानी पुगिरहेका छन्। डुवर्सका मोर्चा समर्थकहरूले कुमानीसम्मको निम्ति गरेको पथयात्रालाई पनि बङ्गाल प्रशासनले रोकेर राखेको छ। सामुहिकरूपले समर्थकहरू कुमानी आउन सकिरहेका छैनन्।
मोर्चाले कुनै पनि परिस्थितिमा डुवर्सका समर्थकहरू 27 फरवरीसम्म कुमानी आइपुग्ने घोषणा गरेको थियो तर पदयात्रीहरूलाई बङ्गालको प्रशासनले रोकेर अघि बढ्न दिएन। यसैकारण डुवर्सका मोर्चा समर्थकहरू रातीराती हिँड़ेर भए पनि कुमानी आइरहेका छन्।
आज मात्र पनि हजारौंको संख्यामा डुवर्सका समर्थकहरू कुमानी आइपुगेका थिए। धेरै जसो अघिल्ला दिनहरूमा नै कुमानी आइपुगेका छन् भने उनीहरू कुमानीमा नै क्याम्प हालेर बसेका छन्। उनीहरूलाई भोली मोर्चा अध्यक्ष विमल गुरूङले सम्बोधन गर्ने छन्। मोर्चा प्रवक्ता डा.हर्कबहादुर छेत्री, सहसचिव विनय तामङ, कल्याण देवान अनि स्टडी फोरमका सदस्यहरूले पनि सम्बोधन गर्नेछन्। विश्वस्त सूत्रले जनाए अनुसार मोर्चाले भोलीदेखि नै डुवर्सका पदयात्रा कार्यक्रमलाई स्थगित गर्नेछ। डुवर्सका जनतालाई पदयात्रा, सीमाङ्कनलाई लिएर केन्द्र र राज्यको चलखेल, सीमाङ्कनको अनिवार्यता अनि डुवर्सका समर्थकहरूको दायित्वमाथि मोर्चा वक्ताहरूले अवगत गराउने छन्। पदयात्रालाई स्थगित गरेपनि विमल गुरूङ अनि केन्द्रिय नेताहरूले कुमानी नछोड्ने पनि सूत्रले जनाएको छ।
सूत्रले भने अऩुसार विधानसभाको अवधीभरि नै मोर्चा अध्यक्ष विमल गुरूङ अनि अन्य नेताहरू कुमानीमा नै बस्नेछन्। विमल गुरूङले कुमानीको जनसभाबाट नै चुनाउ, सीमाङ्कन अनि अन्य मुद्दाबारे मोर्चाले तयार पारेको कार्यक्रमहरूको घोषणा गर्ने सम्भावना रहेको पनि सूत्रले जनाएको छ। मोर्चाले चिया निर्यातमा लगाएको रोक सम्बन्धमा पनि मोर्चाको स्पष्ट अड़ान सोही जनसभाबाट आउनसक्ने सम्भावना रहेको छ भने भागोपले गरिरहेको सर्वदलीय एकता र अन्यदलहरूमाथि पनि मोर्चाको अड़ान यसै जनसभाबाट स्पष्ट हुने सम्भावना रहेको छ।
विद्यार्थी मोर्चाले स्कूलहेड्सलाई लिएर गर्ने सभाः गोजविमोको कार्यक्रममाथि अभिभावक सङ्गठनको टिप्पणीविद्यार्थीहरू नपढ्दा बङ्गाल सरकार धुरुधुरू रुन्छ जस्तो लाग्दैन-क्रामाकपा
मनोज वोगटी, कालिमन्युज, कालेबुङ, 26 फरवरी। विद्यार्थी मोर्चाले विद्याथीहरूलाई अनिवार्यरूपले विद्यालय जानुपर्ने आह्वान गरेको छ। गोजविमो कालेबुङका अध्यक्ष दीपेन थापाले सिब्सुकाण्डमाथि सीबीआई जॉंच नगरिएको कारण जॉंच हुनुपर्ने दाबीमा पाठ्यपुस्तक बहिष्कारको कार्यक्रम गरेको जनाए। तिनले भने, मदन तामङ हत्याकाण्डमाथि सीबीआई जॉंच भयो तर बङ्गाल पुलिसले हाम्रो मान्छेलाई गोली हानेर हत्या गर्दा किन सीबीआई जॉंच गर्दैन? के हाम्रो मान्छेको हत्या गर्न बङ्गाल सरकारले पाउँछ? बङ्गाल सरकारको अत्याचारको विरूद्धमा सम्पूर्ण विद्यार्थी सड़क उत्रिएका हुन्। यसकारण आफ्नो दाबीलाई बलियो बनाउन गोर्खाल्याण्ड क्षेत्रभरिका विद्यार्थीहरू विद्यालय जानेछन् तर पढ़ाई भने गर्नेछैनन्।
तिनले यससम्बन्धमा कालेबुङका सम्पूर्ण स्कूलहेड्सहरूलाई लिएर विद्यार्थी मोर्चाले भोली सभा गर्ने भएको पनि तिनले जनाएका छन्। विद्यार्थी मोर्चाले यसप्रकारको कार्यक्रम घोषणा गरेपछि अभिभावक अनि विद्यालयपक्षको होस् उड़ेको छ।
बजारभरि स्कूल जानु तर पाठ्यपुस्तक् भने पढ्न नपाउने कार्यक्रमले सरकारलाई कुनै असर गर्ला के त भन्ने चर्चा चलेको सुनियो।
यता कालेबुङका विद्यार्थीहरूको हीतमा कार्य गर्दै आइरहेको अभिभावक मञ्चका सल्लाहकार तारा सुन्दासले विद्यार्थीहरूले आन्दोलन त गर्नुपर्ने तर आन्दोलनले आफैलाई हानी हुन नहुने जनाए। तिनले भने, विद्यार्थीहरू आन्दोलनमा उत्रिएका छन्, जसलाई म सलाम गर्छु। यसरी विद्यार्थीहरूले जनसरोकारको विशयमा आन्दलन गर्नुपर्छ तर विद्यार्थीहरूले गर्ने आन्दोलनले आप्नै भविष्य भने बिगार्ने हुनुहुँदैन। विद्यालय जानु पर्ने तर पढ्न नपाउने कुरा राम्रो निर्णय होइन बरू विद्यालय छिट्टो गएर पढ़ेर समय उबारेर विद्रोह गरेको उचित हुन्छ। कि त कुनै पनि दुइवटा क्लासलाई स्थगित गरेर त्यो अवधीमा दाबीको निम्ति अघि बढ्न सकिन्छ। विद्यार्थी मोर्चाले कार्यक्रममा फेरबदल गरोस् भन्ने हाम्रो सुझाव छ।
यता क्रामाकपा प्रतिनिधि मोहन पौड्यालले भने, विद्यार्थीहरू नपढ्दा बङ्गाल सरकार धुरूधुरू रुन्छ जस्तो क्रामाकपालाई लाग्दैन। विश्वभरि नै विद्यार्थीहरू आफ्नो युक्तिसङ्गत दाबीको निम्ति आन्दोलनरत छन् तर उनीहरूको कार्यक्रम आत्मघाती छैन। विद्यार्थी मोर्चाको आन्दोलनलाई हाम्रो पनि समर्थन छ तर आन्दोलन आत्मघाती हुनुभएन। विद्यालय गएर नपढ्दा सरकारलाई कुनै असर पर्दैन। मोर्चाले घरि विद्यार्थीहरूको हीतलाई ध्यानमा राख्दै कार्यक्रम बनाएको भन्छ घरि एकवर्ष माध्यमिक नदिँदा, नपढ्दा केही हुँदैन भन्ने भावनात्मक कुरा गर्छ घरि विद्यार्थीहरूले ट्यूसन पनि पढ्न नपाउने भन्छ अनि अहिले विद्यालय जानु तर नपढ्नु भन्दैछ।
यो कार्यक्रममा कतै पनि लजिक भन्ने कुरा देखिएको छैन। तिनले पहाड़का गरीबहरूले पहाड़मा नै पढ़ाइरहेको तर धनीहरू अनि नेताहरूले भने बाहिर नै पढ़ाइरहेको भन्दै के गरीबका नानीहरूले मात्र त्याग गर्नुपर्ने भन्ने प्रश्न पनि उठाएका छन्। विद्यार्थी मोर्चाले कार्यक्रममा पुन समीक्षा गरेर सरकारलाई गाह्रो पर्ने कार्यक्रम तयार पारोस् भन्ने हाम्रो सुझाव छ-तिनले भने।
उता 28 न.समष्टी विद्यार्थी मोर्चाका अध्यक्ष दिवस राईले माल बजार परिमलमित्र स्मृति महाविध्यालय पढ्ने समष्टीका विद्यार्थीहरूले महाविद्यालयलाई नै बहिष्कार गरेको जनाएका छन्। तिनले जबसम्म सिब्सुकाण्डमाथि सीबीआई जॉंच हुँदैन तबसम्म महाविद्यालय नै नजाने बताएका छन्। तिनले सिब्सुकाण्डलाई विश्वव्यापी बनाउन इन्टरनेटद्वारा सिब्सुकाण्डका सबै फोटो र भिडियो फुटेजहरू विश्वभरि फैलाएर यसमाथि सीबीआई जॉंच हुनुपर्ने सम्बन्धमा ई-आन्दोलन गर्न सहयोग मागिने पनि जनाएका छन्।
43 जना दिल्ली प्रस्थान
मनोज वोगटी, कालिमन्युज, कालेबुङ, 26 फरवरी। दिल्लीको जन्तरमन्तरमा धर्ना दिनको निम्ति मोर्चाका प्रतिनिधिहरू पहाड़भरिबाट दिल्ली प्रस्थान गर्ने क्रम जारी छ। कालेबुङका 22 वटा जोनबाट मोठ 44 जना प्रतिनिधिहरू आज दिल्ली प्रस्थान भएको छ। प्रत्येक जोनको दुइजना गरेर गएको यस टोलीलाई महकुमा सदस्य उमेश राईले प्रतिनिधित्व गरेका छन्। आज उनीहरू दिल्ली प्रस्थान गर्न अघि उनीहरूलाई दार्जीलिङ तराई डुवर्स प्लान्टेशन लेबर युनियनका अध्यक्ष गोपाल रुचाल, चालक महासङ्घका अध्यक्ष छिरिङ दोर्जी भोटिया अनि नारी मोर्चा कार्यकर्ताहरूले खदामाला गरेर शुभेच्छा प्रकट गरे।
क्रामाकपाले भाजपाको भूमिकामाथि उठाउने आवाज
मनोज वोगटी, कालिमन्युज,कालेबुङ, 26 फरवरी।क्रामाकपा अध्यक्ष आरबी राई भोली भागोपका प्रतिनिधिहरूसित सामुहिक आन्दोलनमाथि कुराकानी गर्न कालेबुङ आउने भएका छन्। क्रामाकपा आञ्चलिक समितिको सक्रियतामा आरबी राई आफै आएर भागोपका प्रतिनिधिहरूसित कुराकानी गर्नेछन्। कालेबुङ आञ्चलिक समितिले दलीय कार्यालयमा आज एक समीक्षा कार्यक्रम अनि आगामी दिनको कार्यक्रम निर्माणलाई लिएर एकसभा सम्पन्न गरेको छ।
जितबहादुर राईको अध्यक्षतामा भएको सभामा चलिरहेको आन्दोलनमाथि समीक्षा गरिएको अनि आगामी दिनमा आन्दोलनलाई कुनरूप दिइनुपर्ने भन्ने विषय चर्चा भएको आञ्चलिक समितिका सचिव किशोर प्रधानले जनाएका छन्। क्रामाकपाले गोर्खाल्याण्ड प्राप्तिको निम्ति विभिन्न कार्यक्रम हातमा लिएको जनाउँदै तिनले भने, दलको संविधानको धारा 11 लाई संशोधन गर्दै आञ्चलिक समितिले नयॉं कार्यक्रम तयार पारेको छ, जसमाथि केन्द्रिय समितिमा अनुमोदनको निम्ति पठाइएको छ।
तिनले क्रामाकपाले अब पहाड़मा आंशिक अनि पहाड़बाहिर धेर कार्यक्रम गर्ने बताउँदै भने, मार्चदेखि क्रामाकपाले जनजागरण अभियान शुरू गर्नेछ। जसलाई वैचारिक आन्दोलनको नाम दिइएको छ। यो कार्यक्रम अन्तर्गत गोर्खाल्याण्डमाथि सहमति बटुल्न अनि यसको औचित्य बुझाइने छ। तिनले भाजपाले गोर्खाल्याण्ड गठनको निम्ति कुनै महत्वपूर्ण पहल नगरेको जनाउँदै अब क्रामाकपाले गोर्खाल्याण्डको आन्दोलनमा भाजपाको भूमिकामाथि प्रश्न उठाउने कार्यक्रम बनाउने पनि जनाएका छन्।
Asok rebuffs GJMM on Hills agenda
SNS, SILIGURI, 26 FEB: The state urban development minister, Mr Asok Bhattacharya, today criticised Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha’s (GJMM) decision to stop first-flush tea trade and boycott the educational institutions in the Darjeeling Hills.
After inaugurating the centre for pineapple marketing at Bidhannagar in Siliguri, Mr Bhattacharya said: “The GJMM leaders will have to withdraw the decision following pressure from the Hill people after a few days.” Notably, the GJMM-backed students’ wing yesterday asked pupils to boycott their classes, demanding CBI inquiry into the Sipchu firing, where a Class X student, Vicky Lama, was killed. “The decision to boycott educational institutions is an injustice to pupils. They are agitating like Fascists,” he said.
He also claimed that the GJMM would have to withdraw the decision to stop tea trade from the Hills.
The GJMM will organise a rally at Kumani, bordering area of Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri districts, tomorrow and will declare the next phase of its movement.
The Jalpaiguri divisional commissioner, Mr AK Singh, said: “The police are keeping a close watch on the situation.”
The ABAVP state president, Mr Birsha Tirkey, said: “Possibility to join the rally is out of question. I don't have information.”
GJMM media secretary Mr Harka Bahadur Chettri said: “We are expecting that more than 30,000 people, including 5,000 Adivasis, mostly from the Dooars, to join the rally.”
Nehu VC in advisory panel
TT, Shillong, Feb. 26: Nehu vice-chancellor A.N. Rai, who was appointed as a member of the scientific advisory committee to the Union cabinet recently, today said the committee’s first meeting held in Delhi recently discussed ways and means to address energy shortage in the country.
He said the committee’s role is to advice the Centre on matters of scientific importance, so that it can frame relevant policies. “While tapping energy sources, environmental concerns should also be taken care of and this aspect was also discussed in the meeting,” Rai said.
The current rise in prices of petroleum products has compelled the Centre to think about alternative sources of energy. The meeting also discussed the need to tap shale, a source of natural gas.
Liquid hydrocarbons can be extracted from shale, a sedimentary rock that contains a solid mixture of organic chemical compounds.
Sound flout at CM meet- In exam season, Buddha speaks over loudspeaker
DEBASISH CHATTERJEE, TT, Calcutta, Feb. 26: The chief minister today addressed an open-air programme in east Jadavpur over a loudspeaker, the organisers violating a high court order that prohibits the use of microphones in an open area during exams conducted by central and state boards.
Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, however, asked the organisers of the programme at Shahid Smriti Primary School to lower the volume of the loudspeaker after he stepped onto the dais and said he would speak “in a low voice”. But by then the school committee members had made good use of the amplification system, complete with 12 sound boxes.
According to the Calcutta High Court order, microphones and loudspeakers cannot be used in open areas from three days before the exams till the time they are over. This year’s Madhyamik started on February 23 and the ICSE exams will begin on Monday.
The school in Panchasayar, off EM Bypass, where Bhattacharjee addressed the programme, is located in a residential area. It is surrounded by houses on all sides. The event, organised to inaugurate a new wing, was held on the school grounds.
The chief minister arrived at the venue around 4.45pm. Soon after taking his seat on the dais, he started looking around, apparently wanting to say something. Bhattacharjee then waved at his confidential assistant Jaideep Mukherjee and called him to the stage.
The chief minister pointed towards the men who were controlling the sound system and gave some instructions to Mukherjee. The confidential assistant promptly walked up to the sound arrangers and said: “Please lower the volume. It should not be so high.” A member of the chief minister’s security team also gave the same instruction to the arrangers.
After the volume was lowered, Bhattacharjee rose to speak. “There are some problems with the sound. I have asked them to bring down the volume. I will speak in a low voice but you all will be able to hear. It won’t be a problem,” the chief minister said, before starting his 10-minute speech.
The programme organisers refused comment on the issue. Senior police officers said a case could be started against the organisers for violating the ban.
In the evening, the chief minister addressed two more programmes in Patuli and Baghajatin. Although loudspeakers were used at these events, too, both were organised in enclosed areas — the first in a club and the other in a library.
According to the high court order, loudspeakers can be used inside enclosed areas during exam time provided the sound does not permeate outside.
On February 20, three days before Madhyamik started, Calcutta police had slapped a case against the Trinamul Congress for using microphones at a rally on the Maidan.
Rs 150 Coin
TT: The government has issued coins of Rs 150 denomination for the first time in the country to mark the end of the income tax department’s 150th year.
“Two hundred coins will be minted in Rs 150 denomination,” said an official. The Rs 150 coin has an international design with Satyameva jayate and ‘India’ inscribed on the front with a portrait of Chanakya with lotus and honeybee on the reverse. The etching represents the Mauryan statesman’s famous quote: “Ideally, governments should collect taxes like a honeybee, which sucks just the right amount of honey from the flower so that both can survive.” Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday inaugurated the 44-millimetre coin of an alloy of silver, copper, nickel and zinc.
Pragya arrest
TT, Mumbai, Feb. 26: Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has been placed under arrest in the murder case of RSS pracharak Sunil Joshi.
Joshi, who was allegedly one of the plotters of the blasts in Malegaon, Ajmer, Mecca Masjid and Samjhauta Express, was shot dead in December 2007 in Dewas in Madhya Pradesh.
After interrogating Thakur last week, Madhya Pradesh police moved an application in a special court in Mumbai on Friday seeking permission to arrest Thakur, who is undergoing treatment for spondylitis at JJ Hospital in the metro.
under whose judicial custody he is lodged for the 2008 Malegaon blast case.
Stating her role has surfaced in the matter, the police sought permission to place Thakur under arrest. Granting the permission, The court directed investigating officer Vinod Kushwaha access to Thakur who is undergoing treatment for spondylitis at JJ Hospital in Mumbai.
While she was not taken into physical custody, Kushwaha served her an “arrest memo”.
“She is undergoing treatment in the hospital and her physical custody has not been sought yet. She would be taken to Madhya Pradesh depending on the requirement of the police under a due transfer warrant by the local court there,” said her lawyer Ganesh Sovani.
Thakur has been charged with murder, conspiracy and destruction of evidence.Sunil Joshi has been mentioned in Aseemanand’s confession as the logistical mastermind in the blasts conducted at Mecca Masjid, Ajmer and Malegaon.
Thakur’s bail application in the 2008 Malegaon blasts case on medical grounds will be heard by the special court on March 1. The Supreme Court will also hear a petition on her bail application on March 9.

सूत्रले भने अऩुसार विधानसभाको अवधीभरि नै मोर्चा अध्यक्ष विमल गुरूङ अनि अन्य नेताहरू कुमानीमा नै बस्नेछन्। विमल गुरूङले कुमानीको जनसभाबाट नै चुनाउ, सीमाङ्कन अनि अन्य मुद्दाबारे मोर्चाले तयार पारेको कार्यक्रमहरूको घोषणा गर्ने सम्भावना रहेको पनि सूत्रले जनाएको छ। मोर्चाले चिया निर्यातमा लगाएको रोक सम्बन्धमा पनि मोर्चाको स्पष्ट अड़ान सोही जनसभाबाट आउनसक्ने सम्भावना रहेको छ भने भागोपले गरिरहेको सर्वदलीय एकता र अन्यदलहरूमाथि पनि मोर्चाको अड़ान यसै जनसभाबाट स्पष्ट हुने सम्भावना रहेको छ।

मनोज वोगटी, कालिमन्युज, कालेबुङ, 26 फरवरी। विद्यार्थी मोर्चाले विद्याथीहरूलाई अनिवार्यरूपले विद्यालय जानुपर्ने आह्वान गरेको छ। गोजविमो कालेबुङका अध्यक्ष दीपेन थापाले सिब्सुकाण्डमाथि सीबीआई जॉंच नगरिएको कारण जॉंच हुनुपर्ने दाबीमा पाठ्यपुस्तक बहिष्कारको कार्यक्रम गरेको जनाए। तिनले भने, मदन तामङ हत्याकाण्डमाथि सीबीआई जॉंच भयो तर बङ्गाल पुलिसले हाम्रो मान्छेलाई गोली हानेर हत्या गर्दा किन सीबीआई जॉंच गर्दैन? के हाम्रो मान्छेको हत्या गर्न बङ्गाल सरकारले पाउँछ? बङ्गाल सरकारको अत्याचारको विरूद्धमा सम्पूर्ण विद्यार्थी सड़क उत्रिएका हुन्। यसकारण आफ्नो दाबीलाई बलियो बनाउन गोर्खाल्याण्ड क्षेत्रभरिका विद्यार्थीहरू विद्यालय जानेछन् तर पढ़ाई भने गर्नेछैनन्।
तिनले यससम्बन्धमा कालेबुङका सम्पूर्ण स्कूलहेड्सहरूलाई लिएर विद्यार्थी मोर्चाले भोली सभा गर्ने भएको पनि तिनले जनाएका छन्। विद्यार्थी मोर्चाले यसप्रकारको कार्यक्रम घोषणा गरेपछि अभिभावक अनि विद्यालयपक्षको होस् उड़ेको छ।
बजारभरि स्कूल जानु तर पाठ्यपुस्तक् भने पढ्न नपाउने कार्यक्रमले सरकारलाई कुनै असर गर्ला के त भन्ने चर्चा चलेको सुनियो।
यता कालेबुङका विद्यार्थीहरूको हीतमा कार्य गर्दै आइरहेको अभिभावक मञ्चका सल्लाहकार तारा सुन्दासले विद्यार्थीहरूले आन्दोलन त गर्नुपर्ने तर आन्दोलनले आफैलाई हानी हुन नहुने जनाए। तिनले भने, विद्यार्थीहरू आन्दोलनमा उत्रिएका छन्, जसलाई म सलाम गर्छु। यसरी विद्यार्थीहरूले जनसरोकारको विशयमा आन्दलन गर्नुपर्छ तर विद्यार्थीहरूले गर्ने आन्दोलनले आप्नै भविष्य भने बिगार्ने हुनुहुँदैन। विद्यालय जानु पर्ने तर पढ्न नपाउने कुरा राम्रो निर्णय होइन बरू विद्यालय छिट्टो गएर पढ़ेर समय उबारेर विद्रोह गरेको उचित हुन्छ। कि त कुनै पनि दुइवटा क्लासलाई स्थगित गरेर त्यो अवधीमा दाबीको निम्ति अघि बढ्न सकिन्छ। विद्यार्थी मोर्चाले कार्यक्रममा फेरबदल गरोस् भन्ने हाम्रो सुझाव छ।
यता क्रामाकपा प्रतिनिधि मोहन पौड्यालले भने, विद्यार्थीहरू नपढ्दा बङ्गाल सरकार धुरूधुरू रुन्छ जस्तो क्रामाकपालाई लाग्दैन। विश्वभरि नै विद्यार्थीहरू आफ्नो युक्तिसङ्गत दाबीको निम्ति आन्दोलनरत छन् तर उनीहरूको कार्यक्रम आत्मघाती छैन। विद्यार्थी मोर्चाको आन्दोलनलाई हाम्रो पनि समर्थन छ तर आन्दोलन आत्मघाती हुनुभएन। विद्यालय गएर नपढ्दा सरकारलाई कुनै असर पर्दैन। मोर्चाले घरि विद्यार्थीहरूको हीतलाई ध्यानमा राख्दै कार्यक्रम बनाएको भन्छ घरि एकवर्ष माध्यमिक नदिँदा, नपढ्दा केही हुँदैन भन्ने भावनात्मक कुरा गर्छ घरि विद्यार्थीहरूले ट्यूसन पनि पढ्न नपाउने भन्छ अनि अहिले विद्यालय जानु तर नपढ्नु भन्दैछ।
यो कार्यक्रममा कतै पनि लजिक भन्ने कुरा देखिएको छैन। तिनले पहाड़का गरीबहरूले पहाड़मा नै पढ़ाइरहेको तर धनीहरू अनि नेताहरूले भने बाहिर नै पढ़ाइरहेको भन्दै के गरीबका नानीहरूले मात्र त्याग गर्नुपर्ने भन्ने प्रश्न पनि उठाएका छन्। विद्यार्थी मोर्चाले कार्यक्रममा पुन समीक्षा गरेर सरकारलाई गाह्रो पर्ने कार्यक्रम तयार पारोस् भन्ने हाम्रो सुझाव छ-तिनले भने।
उता 28 न.समष्टी विद्यार्थी मोर्चाका अध्यक्ष दिवस राईले माल बजार परिमलमित्र स्मृति महाविध्यालय पढ्ने समष्टीका विद्यार्थीहरूले महाविद्यालयलाई नै बहिष्कार गरेको जनाएका छन्। तिनले जबसम्म सिब्सुकाण्डमाथि सीबीआई जॉंच हुँदैन तबसम्म महाविद्यालय नै नजाने बताएका छन्। तिनले सिब्सुकाण्डलाई विश्वव्यापी बनाउन इन्टरनेटद्वारा सिब्सुकाण्डका सबै फोटो र भिडियो फुटेजहरू विश्वभरि फैलाएर यसमाथि सीबीआई जॉंच हुनुपर्ने सम्बन्धमा ई-आन्दोलन गर्न सहयोग मागिने पनि जनाएका छन्।

क्रामाकपाले भाजपाको भूमिकामाथि उठाउने आवाज
मनोज वोगटी, कालिमन्युज,कालेबुङ, 26 फरवरी।क्रामाकपा अध्यक्ष आरबी राई भोली भागोपका प्रतिनिधिहरूसित सामुहिक आन्दोलनमाथि कुराकानी गर्न कालेबुङ आउने भएका छन्। क्रामाकपा आञ्चलिक समितिको सक्रियतामा आरबी राई आफै आएर भागोपका प्रतिनिधिहरूसित कुराकानी गर्नेछन्। कालेबुङ आञ्चलिक समितिले दलीय कार्यालयमा आज एक समीक्षा कार्यक्रम अनि आगामी दिनको कार्यक्रम निर्माणलाई लिएर एकसभा सम्पन्न गरेको छ।
जितबहादुर राईको अध्यक्षतामा भएको सभामा चलिरहेको आन्दोलनमाथि समीक्षा गरिएको अनि आगामी दिनमा आन्दोलनलाई कुनरूप दिइनुपर्ने भन्ने विषय चर्चा भएको आञ्चलिक समितिका सचिव किशोर प्रधानले जनाएका छन्। क्रामाकपाले गोर्खाल्याण्ड प्राप्तिको निम्ति विभिन्न कार्यक्रम हातमा लिएको जनाउँदै तिनले भने, दलको संविधानको धारा 11 लाई संशोधन गर्दै आञ्चलिक समितिले नयॉं कार्यक्रम तयार पारेको छ, जसमाथि केन्द्रिय समितिमा अनुमोदनको निम्ति पठाइएको छ।
तिनले क्रामाकपाले अब पहाड़मा आंशिक अनि पहाड़बाहिर धेर कार्यक्रम गर्ने बताउँदै भने, मार्चदेखि क्रामाकपाले जनजागरण अभियान शुरू गर्नेछ। जसलाई वैचारिक आन्दोलनको नाम दिइएको छ। यो कार्यक्रम अन्तर्गत गोर्खाल्याण्डमाथि सहमति बटुल्न अनि यसको औचित्य बुझाइने छ। तिनले भाजपाले गोर्खाल्याण्ड गठनको निम्ति कुनै महत्वपूर्ण पहल नगरेको जनाउँदै अब क्रामाकपाले गोर्खाल्याण्डको आन्दोलनमा भाजपाको भूमिकामाथि प्रश्न उठाउने कार्यक्रम बनाउने पनि जनाएका छन्।
Asok rebuffs GJMM on Hills agenda
SNS, SILIGURI, 26 FEB: The state urban development minister, Mr Asok Bhattacharya, today criticised Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha’s (GJMM) decision to stop first-flush tea trade and boycott the educational institutions in the Darjeeling Hills.
After inaugurating the centre for pineapple marketing at Bidhannagar in Siliguri, Mr Bhattacharya said: “The GJMM leaders will have to withdraw the decision following pressure from the Hill people after a few days.” Notably, the GJMM-backed students’ wing yesterday asked pupils to boycott their classes, demanding CBI inquiry into the Sipchu firing, where a Class X student, Vicky Lama, was killed. “The decision to boycott educational institutions is an injustice to pupils. They are agitating like Fascists,” he said.
He also claimed that the GJMM would have to withdraw the decision to stop tea trade from the Hills.
The GJMM will organise a rally at Kumani, bordering area of Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri districts, tomorrow and will declare the next phase of its movement.
The Jalpaiguri divisional commissioner, Mr AK Singh, said: “The police are keeping a close watch on the situation.”
The ABAVP state president, Mr Birsha Tirkey, said: “Possibility to join the rally is out of question. I don't have information.”
GJMM media secretary Mr Harka Bahadur Chettri said: “We are expecting that more than 30,000 people, including 5,000 Adivasis, mostly from the Dooars, to join the rally.”
Nehu VC in advisory panel
TT, Shillong, Feb. 26: Nehu vice-chancellor A.N. Rai, who was appointed as a member of the scientific advisory committee to the Union cabinet recently, today said the committee’s first meeting held in Delhi recently discussed ways and means to address energy shortage in the country.
He said the committee’s role is to advice the Centre on matters of scientific importance, so that it can frame relevant policies. “While tapping energy sources, environmental concerns should also be taken care of and this aspect was also discussed in the meeting,” Rai said.
The current rise in prices of petroleum products has compelled the Centre to think about alternative sources of energy. The meeting also discussed the need to tap shale, a source of natural gas.
Liquid hydrocarbons can be extracted from shale, a sedimentary rock that contains a solid mixture of organic chemical compounds.
Sound flout at CM meet- In exam season, Buddha speaks over loudspeaker
DEBASISH CHATTERJEE, TT, Calcutta, Feb. 26: The chief minister today addressed an open-air programme in east Jadavpur over a loudspeaker, the organisers violating a high court order that prohibits the use of microphones in an open area during exams conducted by central and state boards.

According to the Calcutta High Court order, microphones and loudspeakers cannot be used in open areas from three days before the exams till the time they are over. This year’s Madhyamik started on February 23 and the ICSE exams will begin on Monday.
The school in Panchasayar, off EM Bypass, where Bhattacharjee addressed the programme, is located in a residential area. It is surrounded by houses on all sides. The event, organised to inaugurate a new wing, was held on the school grounds.
The chief minister arrived at the venue around 4.45pm. Soon after taking his seat on the dais, he started looking around, apparently wanting to say something. Bhattacharjee then waved at his confidential assistant Jaideep Mukherjee and called him to the stage.
The chief minister pointed towards the men who were controlling the sound system and gave some instructions to Mukherjee. The confidential assistant promptly walked up to the sound arrangers and said: “Please lower the volume. It should not be so high.” A member of the chief minister’s security team also gave the same instruction to the arrangers.
After the volume was lowered, Bhattacharjee rose to speak. “There are some problems with the sound. I have asked them to bring down the volume. I will speak in a low voice but you all will be able to hear. It won’t be a problem,” the chief minister said, before starting his 10-minute speech.
The programme organisers refused comment on the issue. Senior police officers said a case could be started against the organisers for violating the ban.
In the evening, the chief minister addressed two more programmes in Patuli and Baghajatin. Although loudspeakers were used at these events, too, both were organised in enclosed areas — the first in a club and the other in a library.
According to the high court order, loudspeakers can be used inside enclosed areas during exam time provided the sound does not permeate outside.
On February 20, three days before Madhyamik started, Calcutta police had slapped a case against the Trinamul Congress for using microphones at a rally on the Maidan.

TT: The government has issued coins of Rs 150 denomination for the first time in the country to mark the end of the income tax department’s 150th year.
“Two hundred coins will be minted in Rs 150 denomination,” said an official. The Rs 150 coin has an international design with Satyameva jayate and ‘India’ inscribed on the front with a portrait of Chanakya with lotus and honeybee on the reverse. The etching represents the Mauryan statesman’s famous quote: “Ideally, governments should collect taxes like a honeybee, which sucks just the right amount of honey from the flower so that both can survive.” Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday inaugurated the 44-millimetre coin of an alloy of silver, copper, nickel and zinc.Pragya arrest
TT, Mumbai, Feb. 26: Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has been placed under arrest in the murder case of RSS pracharak Sunil Joshi.
Joshi, who was allegedly one of the plotters of the blasts in Malegaon, Ajmer, Mecca Masjid and Samjhauta Express, was shot dead in December 2007 in Dewas in Madhya Pradesh.
After interrogating Thakur last week, Madhya Pradesh police moved an application in a special court in Mumbai on Friday seeking permission to arrest Thakur, who is undergoing treatment for spondylitis at JJ Hospital in the metro.

Stating her role has surfaced in the matter, the police sought permission to place Thakur under arrest. Granting the permission, The court directed investigating officer Vinod Kushwaha access to Thakur who is undergoing treatment for spondylitis at JJ Hospital in Mumbai.
While she was not taken into physical custody, Kushwaha served her an “arrest memo”.
“She is undergoing treatment in the hospital and her physical custody has not been sought yet. She would be taken to Madhya Pradesh depending on the requirement of the police under a due transfer warrant by the local court there,” said her lawyer Ganesh Sovani.
Thakur has been charged with murder, conspiracy and destruction of evidence.Sunil Joshi has been mentioned in Aseemanand’s confession as the logistical mastermind in the blasts conducted at Mecca Masjid, Ajmer and Malegaon.
Thakur’s bail application in the 2008 Malegaon blasts case on medical grounds will be heard by the special court on March 1. The Supreme Court will also hear a petition on her bail application on March 9.
