One arrested for attempted theft
KalimNews:Saran Thapa 32 of Tingling TE, Mirik is arrested by Kalimpong Police for attempted theft . Police on patrolling duty at about 2am of 1st January 2011 found Saran trying to damage and steal money from an SBI ATM situated in Main Road of Kalimpong. He is arrested u/s 461,379,511,427 IPC and other acts. He was working a a helper in a restaurant of Kalimpong.
One killed in accident
KalimNews: Bikash Sotang 32 of Jaldhaka died in an accident in NH31A on 31st December 2010. His motorbike was hit by an unknown vehicle at 7th mile near Sevoke while he was on his way to Jaldhaka from Siliguri at about 6 pm on Friday. He died on pot and later Bhaktinagar Police started an accident case. Sotang was son of Indraman Sotang and hails from Gairigaon of Jaldhaka.
